Well I have a 50 mystic and used to enjoy playing it I had 3 heals i could cast in roughly 3.5 sec a nice group slow Mourning Soul and a ward that wasn't the best but it took a hit or 2 now on the other hand I have 2 heals that take 6.5sec to cast almost twice as long as my previous 3 and a ward that lasts longer... and my group slow is now a single target and I pull agro like a chanter pre-patch as single healer in a group last night I had to spam my butt off to keep the tank up even warding pre pull he would get to red and even down to 10%ish several times the only reason I can even keep him up is if the ward lasts through the heal recast timer fyi both heals are adept 3 and the ward is master 2 the only reason I can even get a debuff off is from having to wait on heal recast timers and whats up with my group poison and disease cure it totally sucks I can't remove a single poison effect from anyone and how the hell am I gonna keep an avoidance tank alive with 2 heals on such long cast timers is beyond me I am very dissappointed and don't even think I will continue playing this character much longer

Hmmm...me thinks you don't know squat about your mystic. Mourning Soul was NEVER a group slow. It was a single target slow that rooted YOU. It only slowed autoattack damage, which amounted to didly squat. Now it is a significant total DPS reduction on one target, and it doesnt root you anymore either. Give it some more time, forget everything you think you know about mystics, and learn to play the game like it is now. Its working, its better than before, really it is.

I also like to add to this that a healer alone doesn't show us how good or how bad a group or tank in that matter can stay alive. The tank itself may have a hard time tanking after revamp. Much has changed and sadly but true we all shall have to adapt or move on. It takes blood sweat and tears but i am sure it's not all bad.

As far as keeping an exp group alive, the "Tuesday Mystic" is 10X better than the "Monday Mystic" was.

Now raiding might be a different story. The lack of group heals will definitely impact raiding short term. It is yet to be seen whether the fast cast/fast refresh single target cures can keep up.

Agree with Terq.

I can not see how anyone who has taken the time to look over the spells, read the patch notes, and get in a group and exp for a few hours testing their new spells can say that we are worse. we are at lest 10x better at our jobs. Yes, there are things that need to be ajusted alittle but on the whole we are alot better off. Now do not get me wrong, the game has gotten alot harder. If you do not believe me try running to the Temple of Sol Ro in lava storm. On monday I could run there and talk to the GeB with ease (note I am now in mostly Fable armor.) But yesterday when I went to turn in GeB for guild exp (and what I thought would be exp but they removed that) I died 2 times. Once to an Epic x4 (now that was my fault for not seeing him) and the 2nd time to the mobs on the normal way there. It used to be all grey but is now all green. The mobs chase you longer and slow you down. given that they hit for 20-200hp depending on the classification I died about 1000 yards into the zone that way. I then went back to the Sol E way and went around Fist making sure to spirint (something i havnt done in a long time) I finally made it and was glade to see the mobs on the way to Torov were solo and thus something I could take alot of hits from.

We are better. I can not stress enough how you need to take a breath look over your spells and get in a group and go test it. You best bet is to ward tank and keep him warded. A good way to do this is single before the pull and group after. Encounter should be dead shortly after that if not reward or heal. But make sure you ward its what we do now. We have 3 heals if you did not know group heal is for 500ish hp for 200ish mana. Thats a good return if you are waiting on the other 2 to come back up. Oberon is your friend. Every 2-3 fights you can use this near the start of the fight and not worry about a thing.

Wards give you agro but its not that bad. Once your tanks learn to taunt every chance they get. Agro though from wards is a non issue, and that is great because tanks are able to do there job better.

If you want you can read my ideas of the few things that need tweaking on my previous posts. It is a good start on the things that need alittle work. The great news is they need just a few things to be done, and they are few in number.

Mystics are great now, I still am looking forward to testing epic stuff

Gustave

I have to agree with Terq and the others who are in favor of the changes. I wiped my hotbars clean when I logged in yesterday and re-read all of my spell descriptions to decide what would work best. Yellow and orange mobs are definitely a challenge now. Much better than the Rejuvenating Chant/Enlightened Healing cycle I used to spam. In a group, I can take the first aggro hit from Runic Talisman then toss some debuffs on the mob while the tank builds aggro. Wards work like a charm. I love playing again. I'm no longer forced to drain my power through constant direct heals. As the sole healer I can even manage to toss in a DoT or two and not worry about bottoming out my power bar or missing a critical heal window. I haven't tried Oberon yet. I will give that a shot when I play tonight. I wandered into Pillars of Flame and soloed level 55-56 single down and double down grouped harpies for about 2 hours. They conned yellow at 55 and orange at 56 and gave me a run for my money. The mobs make better use of their stun and stifle abilities now. They don't just power dump on you at the beginning of the fight and turn it into an endurance battle. Overall I am thoroughly enjoying what I have seen of the changes so far, and I only expect it to get better as I re-learn how to play my character. Great job on the Mystic changes, devs. Some of us out here appreciate the work you are doing so keep your heads up!
Message Edited by Tsark on 09-14-2005 03:32 PM
