View Full Version : Mystics can heal a group!

<DIV>The changes are here and I have to say I love them.  I spent yesterday playing 60% through level 50 with a group of friends.  I was the sole healer for 90% of the time and never had a problem as we killed everything from solo's to heroic level 59 mobs.  Wards work great! We are down to 2 single target healing spells which slows healing down some but our recast timers are shorter.  I am not a fan of the increase in max HP that the spells do, I rather see a minor ward on them.  Our group heal is great and bumps us up to 3 healing spells if you use it.  I ams till tring to figure out what our pet does besides a 1 time group heal when cast.  I love the regen ward on runic shield even though it gives you agro if your tank doesnt pull with an AoE taunt, or does one shortly after the pull but I have never had a problem with it.  We are great! we can heal! we can buff Str and Sta ALOT!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The only down side is that I cast debuffs alot less.  The durations are shorter, but thats fine fights are alot shorter.  The best thing that would be is to give them shorter casting times so they can be more effectivly used Vs. mobs that your group can tear through.  My group changed alot but was mostly a Gardian, Zerker, SK, Warlock, Necro, and myself Mystic.  All this stuff I read about how horrible the game is now due to the changes are in my views lies.  I can not see how any mystic can get a group and say Hay! I suck I can't keep a group alive.  Mystics are a great class now and in the last 6 hours I had the best time playing him sense level 14.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Gustave</DIV> <DIV>Nek. <P>I must have not, anyway I think we are better and every shaman I have talked to in game thinks we are better.  If you do not that is fine I am not going to try to make you think otherwise.  I on one hand do think we are and am having a blast in the new world.  </P> <P>Gustave</P> <P>Nek. As I said in my "Deep Breaths" thread, not all of the "problems" that Mystics feel they are faced with now are truly "Mystic" problems. Yes, we still have some very concerning issues in front of us.  No, we are STILL not up to par as healers when compared to a Cleric.  Lack of Group Cures (note plural) is a HUGE problem for raiding. However, we are certainly better off AS HEALERS now.

<P>I agree 100% with the OP.  It is a good feeling to be able to solo heal for a group, and even for a group that is fighting high yellow/orange heroic mobs. </P> <P> </P> <P>Yes, there are still some problems, but I can actually feel confident in myself as solo healer in a group.  Before the upgrade, if I was in a group as solo healer, and we were fighting tough things, then we'd have to look for a second healer.  Now, that is not a concern.  So I can deal with the problems that we still have since I can fill my primary role very well, and I'm having a lot of fun doing it.</P>

yep, an just think a templer can still do better at a lower lvl than you, after this patch.  ya can substitute your 50th lvl mystic to a 46 templer. for the mobs ya were fighting, pre patch, was possible be'n the lone shaman an still walking away, just needed some great drink and a chanter to keep your power up, especially with the old haze. i see the changes done, and honestly it still bites... yes it seems better than before, but honestly it still stinks.  SoE has a few weeks left to work it out, im not that much of a SONY fan, to put up with a broken game. an pay to beta just isnt my thing.  looking at the spells i'll be working to receive from 51 to 60, dont see much to cheer about besides upgrades. plain boredum to come... <div></div>
