Having done several deep dives into Solusek's Eye I have an all new and strongly held appreciation for this talent. It's one of those things though that also doesn't make sense to me from a class perspective. Okay so swashbucklers, and furies can group inivis (might be some others I'm leaving out). This makes sense because why?

It is litterally such a key skill that I honestly can't conceive of a group intentially taking along a mystic when a fury (who has group invis) is available. Even on a normal excursion just about any corpse run would be made far less painful with a fury in your group.

I guess I'm just feeling a bit left out of the special talent pool. I can't send a player home with an odyssey stone, and I can't invis my group. So take me along instead of them because why exactly?

Message Edited by KindredHeart on 09-12-2005 12:53 PM

Well it would be nice if there was something activatible for invis. I just don't understand these decisions. I mean they make items that give you the illusion of another creature but it doesn't actually fool any creatures--what's the point......it's like giving everyone screws without any screwdrivers...

Well my point about it not making sense... Seems to me that such talents like group invis should make sense in some kind of context. Like a certain race should all be able to cast it reguardless of class selection. Or that an entire class (not subclass) should be able to cast it. But to have two subclasses from completely different archtypes be able to cast it...well just doesn't seem to add up.

And I was making a point about the lack of special talents for mystic classes. Yeah sure wards are nifty, but who gives a care as long as a priest of some kind passes out a heal. Special abilities however, like a group invis, now that makes a real difference in who you choose to take along.

Message Edited by KindredHeart on 09-12-2005 02:26 PM

OMG ten million a day are for sale on my server. Okay bit of exageration, but seriously if you ever want one they are always for sale. Totem of the Chameleon. While you're looking you might just want to look over the tons of other totem types too, you might just be a bit surprised.

Ask any cleric if they prefer odyssey to SoW...you will find they almost all crave sow and despise odyessey. And to that group invis, Mystics get a single target DPS reduction spell (its a slow on live) called mourning soul. My Adept 1 on beta is about a 19% dps decrease according to the examine info. Templars get a stun in place of group invis. Inquisitors get a root. Defilers get a fear +root. If a group isnt going to be going down to the bottom of Sol Eye, why would they pick a healer with group invis over one that has something to use in combat? Its a two way street. I'd much prefer everyone get one in-combat and one non-combat utility spell at 39, but thats not the way it is. There are reasons to pick either way. It is a choice, and not one that makes much of a difference either way except in very strict circumstances (Sol Eye for example).

With the new changes to stealth and invis now it no longer has a lvl at all, you are either stealthed, invised, or visible, and only your lvl determines what sees you. I'm better that with that sytem in effect the post-patch chameleon totems will work for higher lvl mobs just fine, especially since there's no longer a game mechanic in place to limit the lvl it can work on.

Hmmm...has anyone tested this yet? Intersted to hear feedback about how using the totem post patch worked for you.
