A lot of people are not liking the changes on beta. I think priests were hit pretty hard with the revamp, or at least I feel like they have based on my playstyle. I've played a Mystic so long, I got used to the way they work on live and how to play them well. I liked my buffs and my fast cast heals........hey at least I could save someone's heiny from the red pretty well (as long as Enlightened Healing and Healing Ritual were refreshed). As I acquired more master 1 spells, sometimes I'd alter my playstyle a bit to make better use of these spells. II figure if i I can't be the best healer in the game I'll at least be one of the best Mystics. Now so much is different.....I can't find a groove on beta. While I am happy that wards are more effective now, I'm scared to even cast them due to massive aggro.  Our direct healing ability along with all other priests has been nerfed....there's no other word for it. From 4 heals down to two, with our best heal a ridiculous 3 second cast now. Not gonna be saving anyone's heiny from the red with that. Our buffs were fiddled with a lot...I'm not happy with Prophetic Shield, Avatar or Ursine Prophet. I'll probably not bother meleeing anymore unless I have to...Maul and Blessed Weapon are gone. I probably won't be debuffing as much as I like to....36 second duration debuffs suck, although I believe they'll never terminate early, which would be nice for tough raid mobs that resist them off after 10 seconds. It's going to be hard getting used to the new Mystic. I see a lot of chain warding and off-tanking in my future. <div></div>

I'm sure others of you not on the Permacrash server have had more time to get acquainted with the "new" Mystic. The preemptive aggro generated by Runic Talisman on pulls is pretty annoying. I won't be running that buff as long as a second priest is in the group to provide the mitigation buff part (since, as far as I can tell, priest miti buffs do not stack like hp buffs now do). I can take a fair amount of hits, though, and with a bard and chanter in the group, I never ran out of power. I also keep Prophecy on myself all the time now</span><span> thanks to a spare conc. slot</span><span> for that added hp/power boost. Fights are pretty fast paced, I barely have time to figure out what is worth casting other than ward after ward after ward. Our dots still suck, and rarely tick halfway thru before mobs are dead. Meanwhile the Warden in our group throws some regens up and HO's his way to 150+ dps! At least that orc mastery strike I picked up comes in handy. Our pet appears to be broken....I haven't caught him doing anything useful unlike the mid 50's level version which kicked butt on beta. Anyways, just a few of my impressions thus far. Don't forget to /join permafrost.allmystics if you want to chat with the rest of us about what's good, what's bad, what's changed and anything else pertaining to our class<span>:smileyhappy:</span>. I am finding Mourning Soul is very nice now.  Against a single mob debuffs seem to make a HUGE difference, whereas before they were useful but just an added bonus.  The durations force you to keep on your toes to keep them going, but they do make a noticable difference. <div></div>
