<DIV> <DIV> <DIV>What buffs/skills does your class bring to a raid ? How do you get used in a raid ?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm compiling a list on eq2raiders.com for each class on what skills/buffs they bring to a raid to make it easier for raid leaders to pick their groups based on the mobs they are facing. I'd really like your input. Give me some details on how raid leaders should best utilise your class in a raid. What skills do you have and what do they do to your group/raid/MT ?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks.</DIV></DIV></DIV>

This question would best be asked in about six weeks. With combat rebalancing totally changing the landscape of abilities in less than a month, you are doing a lot of work that will have to be redone in a very short period of time.

<DIV>possibly but i'd rather compile some info now and just change parts of it after the revamp than wait <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>besides thats 6 weeks to get stuff ready for the new info <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

The way these changes look, it will be much more than minor tweaks to update this info. We're not trying to shoot you down or anything, just letting you know that a good number of the mystics that pry these boards and are of raiding level are more concerned with beta now, and getting everything set to work right after the changes. <div></div>

Combat revamp completely changes the landscape of healing, and anything that requires healing. This includes raids. For instance, I could tell you right now that I am able to buff Divine resistance. And it would be true. In 4 weeks, it will not be true. I could tell you that I'm able to buff Noxious resistances by over 1000, and it too would be true. Now. Not true in 4 weeks. Why give out bad information now when GOOD information will be available shortly ?

Fastest heals in "oh sheet" moments. But longer recast than other priests, so lower HP/sec. Str/Sta buffs. A single target hp/power buff that stacks with other hp buffs.(have to drop some nox resist to have the conc for this one) Decent divine resist buffing. Good Noxious resist buffing. Sta debuffs that can lower a mob's max hp if cast at the beginning of the fight. Tank should be an aggro machine if you want the mystic to do this. A couple slows that dont really lower DPS much unless the mob is completely out of power. SoW. Able to select all group cures. And probably some other stuff I am forgetting. <div></div>

Hmm ill bite i am a mystic and raid every night 3-5 raids a night. I or the other mystic in guild are always in the main tank group for our stat buffs. What we bring to the riad NOW. Wards on MT that have nox resist. Two slows that slow the mobs quite a bit. ( master howling haze 30% slow) and mourning slow. Howl of the ancients. A wizards and warlocks friend. helps lower resist for the entire encounter. Umbral trap on main raid mob. Chimerk on main mob at start of fight and kept up. ( this and ancients lowers mobs hps by almost a whole bubble in some cases) Back up healing to the other healers in raids. I dont cast group ward in raid. I do cast group heal on raids when i am only healer not in teh main tanks group for large aes. ( meeting of the minds) Advancement of heroic opps when you have the good ho group rolling and everyone knows what the heck they are doing. GROUP cure nox. i respeced for this spell and need it on two raid instances so far. Great to have a spell that cure the entire main tank group. ( MOTM drakota) Just from my raid experience. Not a vet yet. only been to about 150 raids so far. I still have a ways to go. have not tackled some of the range contested mobs yet. <div></div>

<P>Currently...the one to me that stands out the most is the Str buffs. When we raid the monks request for a mystic to be in their group for DPS...</P>

What do Mystics bring to a Raid. Group buffs raise STR quite a bit, STA, Max health and Max power some. Mitigation vs. Pysical and divine a little, and Mitigation against disease and poison a lot. Mystics are also capable to getting group cures to Trauma, Divine, Elemental, and Nox. Avatar, a single target buff, can raises AGI, STR, STA, and Attack Speed. Our slow debuffs stack to a decrease in Attack speed by 50% at adept III. (35% encounter wide, 15% single target) Lots of stamina debuffs, and a spell that decreases the Encounters mitigation vs. heat, cold, disease, and poison by over 1k at adept III Group wards work good in the Main tank group in situants where they're the only one taking damage. at adept II it's a 2.5k ward. stacked with the single target ward of 1k it's very nice. Direct heals take up more mana per point than wards, but they're on a pretty fast cast time, with a slightly slower recast time. In general, For an MT group they provided nox resists. In raids MT groups often have more that one healer (i'll make no assuptions though) and the wards provide cleric and fury classes time to get the MT's life back up, should it fall. When i'm in a dps group i put avatar on the Close combat class that's going to be doing the most damage, It ups their attack rating and increases their str and sta. In any raid situation, especially for contested mobs, the fact that mystics have all the group cures, makes life simpler. With a competent mystic AE's don't do nearly as much damage. Especially if timed correctly with a group ward right before an AE hits. Wards also absorb damage caused by Mana stones, One group ward and everyone can hit their mana stone without your groups life dipping. I don't think i've ever seen my guild raid without a mystic in the MT group. It just makes life easier, the wards take some of the chaos out of keeping the MT up, his life bar doesn't bounce around as much when warded properly. <div></div>
