Just curious to see if any other mystic has this problem. My lvl 21 barbarian mystic does not do even the base damage listed for the weapon he is using. The weapon I am currently using has a base damage of 19-57 but my damage is only 11-34. My strength when buffed is about 80 so I doubt it is a lack of strength. I have tested other weapons ranging from orange to grey and my damage is always lower than the weapons base damage. I have four other characters and they all do at least the base damage of the weapon they are using (even the guys with very low strength). Is this lack of damage a mystic thing are is there something wrong with my mystic? Also, just for curiousity sake, what would a normal wisdom stat be for a lvl 21 barbarian mystic unmodified because my guy also seems to have extremely low wisdom for his lvl? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks for the idea but I don't think it is mitigation in this instance. Mitigation would explain lower numbers during combat. My problem is that if i right click on the weapon I have in inventory to examine it, the damage listed as "My Damage" is always much lower than what is listed as "Base Damage". This is the case with all weapons I have equipped to test the problem with regardless of the color code of the weapon. Something I forgot to mention in my first post is that my skill level with the weapon is maxed out at about 106/106 so that can't be the problem either. I am out of ideas with the exception that there is just something wrong with my character. Also the possible problem I have with the wisdom stat is that at lvl 21 I have an unmodified/unbuffed wisdom score of 33. This is extremely low compared to other characters that I have, even the characters that are well below lvl 21. I suppose this could be normal for a barbarian but I didn't think that was the case. So please anyone out there let me know if this is normal or should I take this up with Sony somehow.

Each class has a different damage modifier for weapons. I believe fighters (and maybe scouts) have the highest damage modifier currently. Mages have the lowest. Priests are right above mages. I can't remember what the modifiers are, but I know that priests always do less damage than the base, while fighters do more.

Keep in mind that this may change with the combat revamp ( I really don't know)

So it has nothing to do with your strength (that imfluences your attack rating), but rather has everything to do with the class you are.

Hopes that makes some sense

I had not thought of the damage being an archetype wide phenomenon. I had some other priest friends of mine check their weapons and sure enough they were below base also. Thanks for the reply because that would have driven me insane trying to figure that one out given enough time.
