You do realize that no Priest buffs stack right? No? Eidolic Mettle does not stack with the buffs of other Priests. That's your "big" HP buff. Runic Talisman does not stack with the buffs of other Priests. That's your "big" mitigation buff. Prophetic Guard does not stack with the buffs of other Priests. That's your "big" +Power buff. Spirit of the Elephant will stack with the buffs of other Priests because there aren't any others with the same effect. Tell ya what, if you want to take a Mystic over a Templar in the current game, feel free. I got news for ya, your Mystic will be OOP or MT dead long before one healed by a Templar will be I assure you. Why do you people simply come in with nothing but anecdotal evidence and tell the folks who have proven, many times over, the deficiencies of Mystics that they don't know [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] they are talking about? I just can't fathom it. None of us think Mystics are worthless, but we all believe that Mystics are significantly underpowered. If you like your Mystic, good on ya mate. Enjoy. The rest of us went through every circle of Hades in an effort to get our problems looked at, and finally it seems we managed to get our message through. A simple "thank you" for our work would be nice, but at least don't come in here and tell us we don't know our business.

I'm not here to argue i was simply trying to say that mystic are appreciated and a needed part of eq2. Pretty tired of every post just being a [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] fest.

Let me assure you that every Mystic could vanish overnight and Darathar would still be killed regularly with no adjustment besides getting a Priest with the correct Cures in place.

The sole Mystic of my Guild is also a very invaluable part of any big fight. Her debuffs helps tremendously all the other healers, and we definitely notice it when she is not there. Her wards (now that overflow damage is mitigated) give a nice breathing room for the other healers to get their big heals in. But she will never be able to keep up healing like the Templar will.

Imagine now what your Mystic would be able to do if he had the healing powers near a Templar's?

Message Edited by Loralor on 06-28-2005 08:23 AM

Banditman, I knew that two mystics' buffs didn't stack, but didn't realize they did not stack with other priest classes. In that case, which class' buffs actually will rule them all? Whichever is the best? Or is it based on who casts the buffs last? I would think there must be some situation where my buff would win and I'm trying to figure out how to make it happen.

When my guild raids, there is a warden, templar or inquis, and mystic (me) in the MT's group on the assumption that our buffs stack. If this assumption is wrong, then anyone out there got a better suggestion for the MT group?

Thanks!

Message Edited by Arfiniel on 06-28-2005 09:18 AM

We still use that setup in the MT group . . . Warden, Templar, Mystic. Warden brings some serious avoidance to your MT. Templar for obvious reasons. Mystic for Cures. You really need to get your MT group to sign on early one night and cancel all buffs to see exactly what is happening. I actually use Prophesy a lot of the time because of buff stacking issues. Here's a quick rundown of the buffs that don't stack properly. I'm only showing you Templar/Warden/Mystic since that's what we use most of the time. Group 1: Prophetic Shield: +Power, +Noxious Aspect of the Owl: +Power, +Elemental Shielding Faith: +Power, +Arcane In this group, the +Power buffs do not stack. The secondary effect will still take place, so there are times when duplicating is necessary. The +Power portion of the buffs in this group is almost exactly the same (Less than 1% difference) provided the quality of the spell is equal. Group 2: Eidolic Mettle: +Health, +Noxious, +Divine Essense of the Kodiak: +Health Symbol of Pinzarn: +Health In this group, the +Health buffs do not stack. Secondary effects will still work, so duplication is necessary at times. The +Health portion of the buffs in this group is almost exactly the same (Less than 1% difference) provided the quality is the same. Group 3: Runic Talisman: +AC, +STR Spirit of the Oak: +AC, +AGI, +WIS, +Elemental Valor: +AC, +STA, +Mental In this group, the +AC buffs do not stack. Secondary effects will still work, so there are times when duplication is necessary. The +AC portion of the buffs in this groups is almost exactly the same (Less than 1% difference) provided they are of the same quality. For a Mystic, things that DO stack: Prophesy Avatar Spirit of the Elephant Aqueous Spirit

I'm pretty sure that once the big spell changes are in effect, there will be more of a distinction with buffs. There will be "THE str/agi/sta/wis etc. buffs" to have on for maximum impact. This is accross the classes of course, and some stat type buffs just won't stack anymore period. I don't really know what my point is exactly, this thread just reminded me of some things I remember hearing at the fan faire.
