<DIV>I have always loved this spell, not so sure anymore. When i was a young shammy, i always thought this spell decreased RESISTS by x amount, but it actually decreases MITIGATION. I am under the impression these are to different values entirely. This spell does not make spells land easier (least in my experiences) but makes spells hit harder maybe?</DIV> <DIV>I see no differnece in my damage, but maybe a Warlock would.....</DIV> <DIV>So, does a mobs MITIGATION equal its RESISTANCE #s? But we debuf mitigation only. Or do mobs have like one million mitigation to poison and we debuff 1000 ( @ AD3)....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, was the description for our wards recently changed to include the "heal on expiration " or has it always been there and I mentaly blocked it out =p</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just some random thoughts from a bored raider...=)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Tactus </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>50 Mystic</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Butcherblock</DIV>

Mitigation and resistance are the same thing when it comes to spells. Pull up your Persona page. You'll see your individual resistance numbers, the higher the better obviously. Now, mouse over them and they will show you the percentage of the damage each of those mitigates. Howl of the Ancients is GREAT in this regards. Not only does it make it easier to land spells of the Noxious and Elemental types, it makes those spells do more damage when they do land! Never doubt the value of this spell, it's one of the better spells we have. That is quite a sad dialog of the class unfortunately. <div></div>

<P>I follow you there but, do you think if i debuff mitigation, does it make my spells land easier? (slow is disease...)</P> <P>mitigation = resist rate ?</P> <P>i dont see that occuring....</P> <P> </P> <P>Tactus</P> <P>50 ~ Butcherblock</P> <P> </P>

Yes, those numbers are used for two purposes. They are used for mitigating damage, but that is not really their primary purpose. In fact, that functionality was added AFTER the game was launched. At launch, those resistance numbers you are calling mitigation had NO effect other than to determine how easy it was to LAND (or resist) a spell. Now they do a lot more. <div></div>
