What was the name of mystic spell that you supposedly get from bloodline areas after completing enough quest? Also can you just buy app4/adept3 from someone and scribe it BEFORE you complete those quests?

It's called Umbral Trap - I believe mine is currently an Apprentice 4 version and it decreases the mobs DPS by 8 pct (or so it says). I saw an Adept3 on a vendor which I Believe decreased the DPS by 11pct. I think Ive used it once and then put it away because of the exceedingly long recast.

Thanks. I found it, but 3 min recast sort of takes fun away. I need to think very carefully which mob is valuable enough to waste my small dps decrease debuff. 8% dps reduction is not even close to level that would justify that recast time.

While I do agree that the recast time is rather excessive, don't write the spell off. It's definitely not very useful in an exp grind situation, and I certainly wouldn't use it as such, with the exception of a named mob. However, in a raid situation, Umbral Trap can be rather useful on particularly strong mobs, especially ones with a nasty AE. Two Mystics can really do a lot with Umbral Trap in raids if they talk.

I believe, but I could be wrong, this is essentially an 8% slow which stacks with our 3 other slows. Recast time is a bugger on this one though, I agree.

Yeah it should stack, since it's not exactly a slow, but a dps-decreaser. I don't know whether this means they're hitting slower or just not doing as much damage on their hits though...

I've got it at adept 3, 11% reduction.

It is not a Slow. It simply a flat reduction in the amount of incoming damage. This is very useful in a situation involving an AE. It's not an encounter changing ability by any means, but in some circumstances every little bit helps.

I just made the assumption that it was melee only (in essence a slow), but if what you say is right it does have its place against some mobs.

I have not parsed it, but I "assumed" that 8 percent reduction in DPS would be an 8 percent reduction in DPS, with DPS not being limited to any type of damage, but to the overall output of the mob. I suppose I could parse it to be sure.

I just plain made the assumption that it would only apply to melee DPS and not Spells/CA. Then again, I'm a "the glass is half empty" kind of person.
