View Full Version : Is Wisdom Important on EQ2 to a Mystic?

I have a level 23 Mystic, and thus far I have been more concerned with AC, since I have been mostly soloing. Now that my character is more group based, I rarely get hit and have been thinking about improving my wisdom. Can anyone tell me if upgrading my wisdom will give me more Power at this level or is it trivial. My wisdom is about 80ish right now.

Level 50, it is impossible to get wisdom of 200 at level 23.

I think he means 200 wisdom at level 50. The soft cap supposedly scales with level. Of note is that sometime in the far future wisdom will be changed to increase resists as well as mana, where as now it only increases mana.

Sorry, just had to ask I get 164 right now unbuffed at LVL31, so I wasn't sure. Thanks for the replies.

I would tend to agree that 200 is a good goal to achieve with wis. Note that coming up are changes that will make wis more important for every class, meaning more powerful heals for us and more resists vs. spell damage for everyone. I don't know if the soft cap of 200 will be removed or adjusted in lieu of the upcoming changes.

Regards,

They are doing away with the spell upgrading system in which spell potency improves as you level, as this in combination with the spell upgrade tiers (apprentice, adept, etc.) created too many inconsistencies in spell power. But if int is now going to have an impact on damage for nukers, it would make sense then that wis would affect healers heal power. I don't know many more details than that at this time.

Regards,

While that would make sense, I've not seen that confirmed and every attempt I made to "sell" this idea on the test forums was met with outright hostility that Priests would want Wis to be more meaningful than just high resists.

I was wondering if someone could post a goal for stats, I just hit 138 and I have decent str, sta, and wis but wondering if my str is unimportant.
