Mystic 31 here,

I see Auspice and Omen as junk, even at Adept 3 lvl they seem to not be needed because the benefits of other Spells and Potions out weigh or out balance them AND there two concentrations. So before I completely remove this Entire line of spells from my HotBare I’m curious as to if I’m missing something?, other then grouped with another Mystic...

thanks

You're dead on. They're a waste of hotbar space

Let me preface my remarks by saying that they do NOT provide value commensurate with their associated costs. Two CP's for a single target? For that sort of cost we should be talking about a spell that buffs in excess of 600 HP. (I'm looking at the top of the line here, Prophecy). However, I have found uses for the spell in raid situations. When grouped with other healers, our buffs don't always fully stack. So, for instance, if I'm facing a mob that I know isn't going to do any Noxious damage, I can drop Eidolic Mettle and Prophetic Shield for Prophesy on the MT to pump him up a little. Since there are two other Priests in the group who can still hold those particular lines up, I've gained my MT a few extra HP, and who can argue with that. Still, when you look at the buffs other healers are able to put on a single target, many without CP at all, you can't help but say that this line of spells is overly costly. I would say that this buff should be turned into a buff like Avatar currently is . . . single target toggle-able with a 15 minute duration. That would certainly be a fair and reasonable way to deal with this spell line.

Don't forget the spell Prophecy.

The toggleable no-concentration solution I think sounds about right.

I am not sure if it does anything, but I put prophecy on when I am tradeskilling, dropping the buffs that don't add HP/Power.

Frellya

It's best to craft with no buffs at all on. Each craft skill/reaction consumes a % of power, not a set number (e.g. power at 2000 with a skill that consumes 20% = 400, power at 1000 with a skill that consumes 20% = 200). Your hp/power regen, however, does not change, you always recover the same amount reguardless of the size of your maximum. So, basically you will get your hps/power back faster while not spending as much on craftskills with out any buffs on at all. I believe bandit has brought this up before.

Don't forget to get naked too if you really want to min-max tradeskilling.

Naked, no power buffs exept power regen buffs, with the best drink for your level. And all the power regen trait/traditions/skills you can grab. Group with an Enchanter friend to grab his Breeze
Message Edited by Loralor on 05-19-2005 11:56 AM

Actually i found a use for omen last night.

Was grouped with a higher level mystic-so dropped my ursine oracle and put omen on both of us. Kept runic shield on since mines at adept 3 and adds 410 mitigation to the party vs all physical.

Use? When we both tapped our manastones at the end of a fight we basicly almost insta healed before the next pull.

Sides that...useless...I feel the spells should be group affecting for two conc or have no conc and be on a shorter timer.

Naek
