Longevity of Hope

<DIV>Please help me understand.<BR>In ALL that I read regarding the Mystics, the one thing I always see is the element of HOPE. We Hope that SOE will correct the mystic class. Basis for Hope is what? Has SOE promised this specifically? Have they furnished any grounds of expectation? Have they defined the What and When to anyone who has Hope? We may have a belief that it is obtainable but has SOE instilled confidence in some way? Confidence that will insure the monthly payments of the Mystics to continue,… for years to come? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As far as I see No expectations have been set, The Scope is broad based, No deadlines have been made. I would like to know the basis for your hope because it will help me determine if I should have Hope of my own. Please help me understand, what am I missing? Should I continue to pay and hope?</DIV>

I cannot speak for all Mystics . . . . Personally, my hope stems from a personal attachment I develop with my character over time.  There is certainly nothing tangible for me to base it on.  Quite the opposite, all indications are that Sudedor will be a bottom of the barrel healer for some time to come. <div></div>

<P>It's sad really... I live on the hope that soe will give us something in the upcoming LU9, even though  they once said it was gonna be in LU6 then LU7 etc. I don't even log on to finish up heritage quests and go farming atm. There's nothing there for me, no fun, no progression, no nothing.. I log on for raids. I've been thinking about rerolling alot lately but im not sure i wanna do everything all over again and besides.. shamans/mystics are supposed to be uber imo. I miss that feeling from EQ1 when i played my shaman.. small frog doing backflips, slowing mobs by 75% and healing for 5k a pop, stacking dots to do 1k+ dmg per tick, the hot that was almost as good as clerics, the awesome buffs and the canni spells that made it near impossible to go oom. </P> <P>Pls dont tell me i have to go back to a dead game to get that feeling :< Most of my friends are in EQ2 now and i dont want to lose them.. </P>

<P>I draw hope from the fact I really enjoy playing my Mystic.  Sakaki was an alt I started so my regular game group would have a another healer in case our regular was a no-show.  She is now the only character I play regularly.  The fun is there.  I have just had to swallow the embarrasment and anger I feel when the I join a pick-up group and they say, "Ok, we are just waiting on our healer to zone in and we are good to go".  And the truly sad thing is, I know they are often right to have the other healer  :smileymad:</P> <P>I keep telling myself that the EQ2 we are playing now is just getting started.  It is like a chick inside an egg and there is a great and wonderful game inside the current shell just waiting to burst out and become The Game to Play.  I may be deluding myself but it is what I am waiting for.  I just hope SOE breaks the shell and frees the Game within before I lose that hope.</P> <P> </P>

(although it's easy to lose hope when you are being let down consistently) My biggest reason for remaining optimistic is that things can't get much worse for the mystic class so the changes on the way will have to give us some much needed improvements. Actuallt, i think things could get worse... I have a feeling they're gonna nerf our sta debuffs since it currently let's us mystic/defilers tear off 15-20% from a raidmobs health. Which is more than any warlock could dream of within the same time. Btw, I never said this /hide
