<DIV> <DIV>Its clear Devs do not read on the class forums, nor post here.</DIV> <DIV>The nerf was intentionall and silent.</DIV> <DIV>Good thing mystics are now complety useless with 14s between major heals, debuffs hardly worth casting and wards only worth casting on mages.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Here is what moorgard said.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <HR> </DIV> <BLOCKQUOTE dir=ltr> <P align=left>The reason this wasn't listed yet in the notes for the Test server version of Update #7 is that we (as in, those of us who compile the notes) thought it was going to be part of a subsequent update rather than the initial one. As it turns out, it did make it onto Test, so our apologies for not including it in the original notes. There was nothing intentionally "stealth" about it, and the change will appear in the notes for the live server version of the update.</P> <P align=left>That said, this is an intentional change. These debuffs were able to drop the target about 6 levels in effectiveness, which is simply too great an amount for balance purposes. They're still useful for weakening the target, just not to the extreme that they had been.</P> <P align=left>Because of the dramatic impact the Haze spells can have on all kinds of encounters, the change needed to be independent of other changes to the Priest classes.</P> <P align=left>===========================<BR>Moorgard<BR>EverQuest II Community Guy</P></BLOCKQUOTE> <P></P> <HR> <P> </P> <P>Yay! My brother mystic told me on the phone he will cancel account once he gets home, if he dont change his mind before he gets home I have no reason to continue eq2 either..</P> <P>great I just wasted 6 months of my life....</P> <P>Can someone please take the nerfbat and hit the devs with it?</P> <P> </P> <P>Offtopic:<BR>The default smileybutton when writing posts here is :smileyvery-happy: with the current development they should consider changing it to :smileysad:</P> <P>Btw, Im not mad... I am sad, feel like crying rl.. This is not 'only' a game, whish it was but it isnt..</P></DIV>
Howling Haze AD3 now debuffs melee by 6 on one target... Inquisitor has an encounter debuff that does the same thing at App1. Not sure about how it scales though. I doubt they even thought about that when they killed our class :<

I decided to stop playing at the moment as well but have to remind that this is one part of the combat/priest changes so overall situation will change. They just made it wrong time. Anyways I'll be back once combat/priest revamp is done it end result is still playable/enjoyable game. But we won't ever see that strong debuff as it we're once. <div></div>

I've been working on my alt for now since the change, an alt I was going to play once reaching 50 anyhow. My 45 mystic is on hold till all the final changes for priest 'balancing' are in place. What's sad is that they only just now added a note for the TEST SERVER that the mystic haze line was reduced. The official story doesn't even recognize these changes went live on every server. It points to even further reason to dread the direction and management of this world.I'll be giving Matrix Online a try when it comes out myself.

Why would they implement only part of the fix for the mystic class? If they felt that the haze line was over powered, fine, but <DIV>up to this point many mystics have designed their game play around it. It is just bad form to change something like that with no warning and before the rest of the fix is ready to go live.</DIV>

<P>Bombazz -- kind of off topic, but why have you wasted 6 months of your life because your brother is no longer playing? Did you have fun for those 6 months? If so, then I wouldn't totally call it a waste. And what if he had continued to play, and you both made it to level 50, and got bored with the game after 12 months. Does that mean you would have wasted 12 months of your life? If not, how exactly does that differ from stopping playing after 6 months?</P>

I'm kind of torn on what to do. I've always been a big fan of SOE, and felt that they had the best interest of the entire game at heart. After hearing Mor's response though, I feel that nobody has a clue as to what is going on. Of course the reality is that Morgaard probably just didn't take the time to read the post that he responded to. I hope he does read it to see what the real problem is. There is always the possibility that they know exactly what is going on and just don't want to admit that they made a mistake and won't undo it until the "balancing" goes live. Either way, it makes it very tough to want to play the game anymore. My Mystic is my main and I've had alot of fun with him in the past. Perhaps I'll give him another try and see how he plays. I've always hated when people give the threat that they will be leaving and playing WoW, but I've been thinking about it seriously since this whole thing started. <div></div>

<DIV>I have to think that they will find a happy medium. The game was moving along just fine prior to the change.</DIV>

<DIV>I know what you mean. I have enjoyed my Mystic as "broken" as he is. This is my first mmorpg, so I really have nothing to compare it to. I usually solo or run in a duo, and I have never been more inclined to hang up my Mystic towel until now, simply because if this is any indication of what's going to happen in the priest balancing, I can't see how it will continue to be fun to me.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>They nerf a line of spells because it makes raids too easy, yet it takes me almost 2 minutes and 85% of my power chain-casting HOs to kill a grey ^^ mob 11 or 12 levels below me for a quest. And the combat change is supposed to make greys hit us more? So now in addition to all of that, I might die, too?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>They made crafting less fun for me, so I virtually quit doing that. Now this.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What cracks me up is that the spell was that way for 6 MONTHS, but suddenly they have to fix it, like, TODAY!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway, I don't like to complain much either (well I like to, but I usually don't mean it <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />, but I can only get so excited about:</DIV> <DIV>"- There is now a shadow on text that appears within the Quest Helper to make it easier to read when the background is transparent."</DIV> <P> </P>

Lately there have been alot of talk about how good our Haze line was... It wouldn't be totally out of line to think that someone saw a thread like that, took a close look at the spell and realized what it was doing and said "*$%#&!, that's too much" and bammo, out comes the nerf bat with no regard for balancing or anything. Perhaps it's just my bitterness speaking, but it doesn't sound overly far fetched.</span><div></div>

<P>I've never liked the whole class wars kinda thing. All the forum gnashing and hoo-hawing, but this is beyond the pale.</P> <P>I'll be hanging up EQII for awhile. Haze was my only reason for being a Mystic, and with that reduced I see no reason to continue to fight a losing battle. </P> <P>Good luck all, I hope it all works out.</P>

<P>I will be parking my L33 Mystic. However, as much as I like playing him, I think there is life beyond priests. I am going to pull my L21 Conjuror back off the shelf, and have been toying with the idea of starting a Scout. Eventually things might, hopefully, be fixed. Then I can play my Mystic again.</P> <P> </P>
