- You can now use the /hide_illusions command to disable illusion spell effects on your character. If illusions are disabled on your character, other players will not see the illusion either.

http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=tup&message.id=44#M44

Among other little things on test... nothing too big for Mystics in particular. The major thing for the game in this update is the combat changes. Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure where our debuffs come into play for the changes.

I know I for one have definately missed seeing the race that I picked to begin with. Although its not ground breaking, its still pretty exciting for me. In regard to our debuffs, If you could keep us updated on how the changes do effect our buffs, namely our slow line, I know I for one would be greatly appreciative. Thanks

/hide will be nice. Too bad I just swapped out my cool looking spear for a something resembling a tree branch.

I know I'm in a minority on this one, but I still feel obliged to say that I don't like this change.

The /hide_illusions command makes me want to cry. To me a proper shaman shuld always be in bear form. Its just the way it is. I do agree that the bear form is very intrusive, but the proper fix for that (I know there are other arguments too, but they don't apply to me), is to bring shrink back.

If I had a say in all of this I would have:
- Given shamans shrink
- Made each level of the bear spell give a different bear type (or possibly based on race as in EQ1).

As it is I have used the illsuion "bug" to enable me to be a smaller size, but I have done that in anticipation of shrink, not the /hide_illusion command.

Done posting my "oppsite view" post. Now back to the "I love this change" posts

Hehe Merry, I respect your 'opposite opinion' but the problem for me wasn't that bear form was too big...it was that it was so 'blah'. No mystic ever looked different from any other mystic, and it was kind of boring for me. When we get prismatic weapons, nobody would even know if we were in bear form, and our casting animations were gone as a bear too, no finger wiggling for bears .

I too respect the oppostition to this, but personally am glad to see it implemented. I guess imo, if we have enough magic to turn ourselves into a bear, we certainly should have the power to retain the advantages of that form, while changing ourselves into something more pleasing to the eye, and a tad less intrusive as well.

/thank you for /hide

Message Edited by Viroxian on 04-14-2005 09:23 AM

And remember, if you like the bear, you don't have to use the /hide personally. This is a win/win to me.

You know what I've always wondered . . . . How did the (*#@ owlbears get from Luclin to Nektulos ?

well banditman, in the lore i believe luclin crashed into norrath when it blew to pieces. Thats why TS has all hose craters and stuff. So the idea is that there are gigantic pieces of luclin everywhere and the mobs survived and spread throughout the land.
