I am a 49 mystic, and I currently and regularly act as the main tank for my Duo / Trio team. What kind of methods do you, my mystic friends, use to build up aggro to keep it off of mages etc? Currently I have had mixed results rebuffing midfight, and spamming slows. What have you guys found has worked the best for you? Any input is greatly appreciated. <div></div>

I have a very hard time keeping aggro actually...imo, your best bet is to keep wards and haze up and refresh as necessary and just killing the mob as quickly as possible.

<P>Toggle buffs?</P> <P>No idea if it works, but buffs seem to draw a lot of aggro.</P>

<P><FONT color=#66ff00>Level 33 Mystic duoing with a Sorcerer - normaly we try to stay with ^^-heroic single mobs - i pull with keening haze, delusion, cry of the ancients (normally when that on hits the mob is near enough to start hitting me) followed by a single HO - contagion+miasma before the wiz starts nuking - in most cases this is enough to hold the aggro until end of fight (of cause healing dotting and nuking the rest of the fight) if the sorcerer doesn´t get lucky and make critical hits several times. If we fight several mobs i just use anger of the ancients instead of miasma to get the first hit on all mobs. Then i switch targets to get a dot on every mob. The risk to loose aggro is higher than fighting a single mob.</FONT></P> <P><FONT color=#66ff00>Its not proven but i think that the first several hits produce much more aggro then the following attacks.</FONT></P> <P> </P>
<P>Re-applying haze and healing myself helps generate good aggro. Group cures, heals, and buffs also helps aggro. SoWing someone causes aggro too.</P> <P>I'm basing this off of what I do that steals aggro from my warden partner because in our setup he's the tank.</P> <P>If you pull without being full health then after engaging you heal the damage you had already taken before the fight it counts toward healing aggro for you. I had this happen one day the pally was pulling and the ranger sprung the box trap and had taken a good amount of damage. I heal the box trap damage on the ranger as the pally returns with a pull and the pull aggros on me for the remainder of the fight. I was quite surprised at that.</P>
<DIV>Last night outside or Runnyeye, I was duo with an illusionist. We were killing a white encounter with a white ^^ goblin and 5 smaller goblins including a healer goblin. </DIV> <DIV>Pulled with:</DIV> <DIV>Haze</DIV> <DIV>Group stam debuff</DIV> <DIV>Grim Lethargy.</DIV> <DIV>Fallacy.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The chantie continued to mez the group if he could but kept the ^^ mezzed the entire time while I proceeded to kill the other mob in the encounter.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I used haze on every mob I can and started adding a Fallacy to the already stam debuffed mob by the group debuff. I also direct heal and ward as needed which helps too.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My dps barrage is pretty hardcore. In includes Master I Ursine Oracle with plenty of nice procs, but it is baically:</DIV> <DIV>HO</DIV> <DIV>Miasma</DIV> <DIV>Cold Fire</DIV> <DIV>contagion</DIV> <DIV>HO</DIV> <DIV>Touch of the Grey</DIV> <DIV> <DIV>Touch of the Grey</DIV> <DIV>I might throw in an extra Touch of the Grey</DIV> <DIV>If mob isn't dead and I'm in a hurry</DIV> <DIV> <DIV>HO</DIV> <DIV>Miasma</DIV> <DIV>Cold Fire</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Whenever I have a few extra seconds I'll drop a buff and recast it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>After I killed the solo mob in the group, I had him keep the ^^ mezzed a little longer. I casted Keening Haze and Fallacy a few times and also warded myself. When we were ready...I opened up with my hardcore dps combo.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Even after the chantie kept that ^^ mezzed over and over, I still had aggro on it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>p.s. Note the WHITE GROUP encounter which included 5 solo and a ^^ with SHAMMIE TANK with sufficient healing power and max dps. Mystics gimped? I don't think so. Take that mystihaters!</DIV></DIV></DIV>
