Anyways these changes are very nice and with addition with lu#7 we should be in quite good shape.

Yah, those are fixes rather than the "healer balancing" we're really waiting for. Roll on update 7...

- Resistances against Cold, Heat, Poison, Disease, Magic, Divine, and Mental attacks will now mitigate the per-tick damage of DoT spells. It may be time to shop for resist gear. This could potentially affect us significantly, if the reverse is true for mobs.

Changes for mystic are quite small, but they seem have added non-class spesific ones that sound very nice:- Characters can now list items for sale out that are located in their house vault. These items will remain for sale even when they leave their house or exit the game. You can now sell items while your character is offline!- The benefits of food and drink will no longer disappear when your character dies.- Harvesting skills (Fishing, Foresting, Gathering, Mining, and Trapping) are now over twice as likely to increase when you attempt to harvest.

That could be the start of something good for Oberon . . . if the Stifle is removed from Oberon, along with this change, it would be a minor, but positive change.

If the Stifle is removed, and Wards are then given the AC of the target, Oberon would become THE Ward for endgame.

I'm not ready to jump on the fanboi bandwagon yet, but this is, at least, a small first step in the right direction.

Edit:

I **REALLY** want to know what this means:

- Shadowy Attendant no longer toggles and the reuse timer has been changed to 40 seconds.

- Aid of the Oracle will now include a regeneration effect when activated that affects all members of your group near your pet.

Message Edited by Banditman on 04-01-200509:31 AM

Message Edited by Banditman on 04-01-2005 09:31 AM

Personally, I'm looking forward to the offline selling in this update. While it's true that it will flood the market, does it not make sense that we would have a better chance of finding those "hard to find" spell upgrades? and they may even be somewhat reasonably priced. Of course all this could be my own wishful thinking, but here's to hoping

Banditman wrote:
Actually, they made another change that will prevent market flooding.

Quest completion items are all being marked NO-TRADE.

I read that this morning... I really didn't care one way or the other, but then I thought about the other day, I was working on beefing up my wisdom and was looking to replace outdated gear. So I bought a pair of earrings and a belt. Did I buy a quest item that I could have earned myself in that spending spree? That line of thought gave me an idea that when I want to upgrade my gear the best bet is probably to find it in one of the many websites out there dedicated to quests and whatnot. If I can do a quest to get a really nice piece of gear as opposed to spending my hard earned money it, that makes this Mystic happy I suppose this post has nothing to do with the test update, but just thought I would share with you all what goes on in my little mind while I'm at work

**Off Topic, so, sorry**

Eluj, you make a good point. And in fact I did just that last night. I am a level 35 Mystic, and I needed to replace my shoulder and leggings. I searched the market, and found a few items that were not crafted, and had several listed. I decided on the top two contenders, and then did a search for these item names on these forums and another site that has an item database. I learned that the items I liked were quest rewards from Hammer in Zek, and so I went there with a friend, did two outrageously easy quests, and got 3 nice new orange-con armor pieces (they are light, so my warlock friend could not use). I also discovered that some nice pieces can be gotten from a quest in Nektropos castle.

Okay, I'll make an on-topic point:

One of the test updates I am most excited to see is the ability to see groupmates on the map!

Lucaya, 35 Mystic, Nektulos

Just logged onto the test server to check out the pet. I cast the pet, which has a 30 second duration, then I cast Manastone. The pet healed me for 17 hp a tick, and placed a buff in my spell effects window called Oracle's Blessing, until it expired.

The pet used to last a lot longer. I have also recorded it healing my group for 10 hp per tick during the fights I thought to cast it. Now it heals everyone in the group for 85 hp over 30 seconds. Breath of Spirits Master 1 costs 49 more mana and heals the group for 429 hp. Wonder which one I'll be using....

Edit: Also tested out the change to Maul since it is a DD now instead of a DoT type attack. I killed a group of grey grinnins in Nek forest since I was there anyway. According to Ursine Prophet's description (adept 1), Maul has a 10% chance to inflict 230-383 damage. Maul hit once during the fight, for 249 damage, but Blessed Weapon and my Prismatic Shard procs, whose chances are 5% and 7% respectively, went off a lot more often during the fight. I know a one minute fight isn't exactly the most accurate microcosm of what's going on, but I hope Maul's frequency more closely reflects its description in a longer fight.

Regards,

Message Edited by Eloora on 04-01-2005 09:20 AM

Good info there.

Yes, I agree, a L45 spell should be FAR more effective than a pre-20 spell. It should also last a LOT longer than 30 seconds.

If our fluff spell illusions no longer expire does that mean you don't need to recast them when zoning either?

Zavit wrote:

If our fluff spell illusions no longer expire does that mean you don't need to recast them when zoning either?

That would be nice to know... nothing worse than having to get rid of the bear then cast the hawk, then recast the bear. Well, maybe there's not NOTHING worse than that, but it is annoying none the less. Also, the map feature has me super excited. Iit always made sense to me that it should have been this way from the beginning. I don't know how many times I've gone to the map looking for where my groupmates were, only to remember that I can't see them on the map.

It appears that you do still need to recast them after zoning. Too bad I don't really like the point of view from any of the illusions or the change would make me happier.

Eloora - I think what's going on with Ursine XXXX is a little different than most procs. With all of the weapon procs in the game, they give you a base chance (usually 5 or 10 percent) which is tied to each melee swing. You can proc on a "miss" basically. With Ursine, I think it is actually following the rule that it can only proc on a hit. I could be completely wrong, I haven't done any extensive parses to compare my Staff proc rate to Ursine proc rate.
