What is the difference between Grim Lethargy and Howling Haze? One sounds AoE, but they both are decreasing slow, so which do you use? Also are there any upgrades to Howling Haze? And is it true that Ancestral ward is the last personal ward you get?

<DIV>Everything is right there in the updated info. Howling Haze and Ancestral Aegis are the last single slow and ward, respectively, that we get.</DIV>

Can you give us your opinions on the different spells you use?
So, let me get this straight (i'm deciding between making my second healer type a Warden or Mystic, I'm currently a level 8 priest)... Mystics DO get slow (like the original EQ1 slows.. Turgor's, etc..). I never played a shaman in EQ1, but some of the deciding factors in my decision relies upon the spells and abilities of each class (of course). I'd be a secondary healer in a group with a Templar. When I played my Fury, i'd either be the main healer, or backup and when I was a backup healer, I sometimes felt a little useless as my damage output wasn't great at level 22.. So i'm looking for something that truly adds to the group. Both classes get buffs that aid the party...Thanks for the explained spell list.. some of the titles are vague so I want to be sure I make the right decision and not find out 30 levels later than I shoulda been a Warden <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

crain 44 mystic (Crushbone) Do you guys cast the 3 shield buffs + str+ bear? or do you use the tank buff that takes up 2 buff spots?( in groups i never solo) i think the buff that takes up 2 spots is a waste...cuz if a mage gets attacked...that extra HP helps

<DIV>ausp - omen - proph are good when you have 2 healers in a group. Some buffs don't stack or stack but only add 100 to resist etc. When this happens I usually drop 2 buffs and add ausp omen proph to the MT. I alway keep bear up on myself since I like to chew on the mobs... "kill faster heal less"</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In raid situations it's weird, I have cast them as well as the water spell on raid MT not in my group, and at other times it says target not grouped.. Either way, they are usefull at times. Would be more useful if it didn't take up 2 conc spots.</DIV>
<DIV>I only ever use the Omen/Auspice/Prophecy line when I am grouped with another Mystic. Grouping with another Mystic is a situation I avoid at all cost! We don't work very well together. :smileytongue:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Never tried to use it on a tank in another group though. Usually I am in the group with the tank on raids.. so I haven't really had a reason to test it. Even if it did work though, it would still be a question of balancing the other buffs: What can I sacrifice for my group so my tank can have 200 more HP and 150 more Power? Not a very attractive choice. :smileysad:</DIV>

In the lengthy description area, Wards of the Eidolon says that it increases mitigation vs. crush/slash/pierce by 200 each for the entire group. The main description says it wards the group, which I know for a fact that it does, for somewhere around 1000 points of damage or so. It gives everyone who isn't already in a form like bear or guise the appearance of a ghostly bear. While the spell is up everyone has a chance to maul the enemy just like you do in bear form, and it can be a pretty crazy extra dps boost for a few seconds, especially on scouts. On tough encounters, though, it's not very useful. As soon as whoever taking the most damage soaks up the max damage blocked by the spell, it falls off of everyone just like our group wards.

I don't mind at all Taria, I wish I had more time to compile a more attactive list. I do however want to refrain from listing the secondary description with the effects of the spell, as that changes depending on spell upgrade level, and could cause confusion. I just wanted to make a reference list so Mystics would know what to expect at what level, and plan upgrades accordingly. You are welcome to use the names descriptions I list for the higher level spells you don't have yet as well. <div></div>

Transcendent Blessing at level 58 is wrong. Should be Transcendent Grace at 56.

<DIV>The spells are ordered by level and color coded according to their spell type (red for single target hostile spell, purple for groupwide beneficial spell, etc.). Upgrades both follow a rather tight level frequency (around 13-14 levels) and often have similar sounding names (Ursine Elder > Ursine Oracle, Transcendent Blessing > Transcendent Grace, etc.). Also spell descriptions for spells and their upgrades are identical. </DIV> <DIV>I don't plan on including an upgrade path in my list and I'm not sure if anyone else has one made, but if you follow the above guidelines you should be able to figure them out by yourself.</DIV>

Thanks. That was probably obvious to all the mystics here ... I was helping my wife and am afraid I don't know an Ursine Elder from an Ursine Oracle ... lol.

<DIV>After thinking about it a bit more, I'm guessing that this change was a part of the haste/dps mods changes made with the launch of EOF although I did not see that change described on the list of spell changes. Is this a good or bad change overall for us -- any thoughts? Without knowing what a mob's dps rating or cap is I really don't have an idea.</DIV>

Purely anecdotal, but I have done a few dungeon crawls since EoF came out and Lamenting Soul seems to be more or less in line with the effect it had before. <div></div>
