For the fastest permanent run speed, max out heirophant movement (10% ic/ooc) and max out peerless predator (35% ic/ooc) for a total of a stackable 45% in and out of combat run speed with 35% safefall.

Racial ability stacks with it. I'm currently at 3 ranks in it, adding in my racial boost I have 26% instead of just 21%.

I should check if Jboots help too, pretty sure it did for 36% but it's been a few days so I'm not positive.

If it does, you'd be looking at 10+35+10+5 = 60% run speed all the time. All you'd need is the weakest version of cheetah or sprint and you've hit 100%.

Quite frankly, unless your friends need cheetah all the time, the AA's for cheetah aren't worth it. Not with the other stackable run speeds we have. It stacks with sprint to, of all things... wish we could see what 150% run speed was like, heh.

J-Boots stack neither with my 5% Fae racial tradition nor with the 35% from preadator :smileysad:

"In Combat" speed bonus is a misnomer, it is ALWAYS on whether you are in combat or not. On the other hand, "Out-of-Combat" just works when you aren't in combat.

In combat runspeed always works out of combat .. but .. like Kalimong said .. it looks as if they don't stack with some other out of combat enhancers like JBoots and SoW. Cheetah however stacks.

Don't forget the boots from AP and I was under the impression that Peerless Predator was incombat only. I put an AA point into it last night and it does NOT show up on the Persona Screen and even states in the buff that it is an incombat speed increase. Am I mistaken? o.O

There are 3 different types of speed enhancements:

mounts are out of combat only and don't stack with any other speed enhancements

all other out of combat speed enhancements stack each other unless it's multiples of the same spell (like a bunch of scouts' pathfinding)

all in combat speed enhancements stack with each other

out of combat it will take the highest of those 3 and that is what shows up in your persona window...

also I believe that the max is 100% run speed so there's no need to shoot for 150 or something crazy like that hehe.....

Message Edited by Sikeoka on 12-28-2006 04:38 PM

Message Edited by Sikeoka on 12-28-2006 04:39 PM

Ummmm . . the effect that was on the spell even stated that it was in-combat and I only had my boots on without SoW to test even your theory and I only was being shown 10% speed increase with the AA in that ability. Removed it as the increase with PoC will be a bit more beneficitial to me when I have extra AA points to blow .

Each point in Peerless gives 7%. It does not stack with boots. It works out of combat as well, just put more points into it or take off your boots.I have 3 points into it currently for 21%. I no longer have to cast sow or wear my jboots. In beta, I tried maxing it and had 35% run speed at all times, that stacked with both Cheetah and Sprint. It definately works out of combat, it just doesn't stack with everything. If you want to see what I saw, here's some pictures:I have 3 ranks in the AA, so I'm getting 21% from the ability. I also have the Kerran racial trait (+5%).Here it is with just jboots on.

Note how it doesn't stack even with my Racial trait. The rest of these were taken out of combat:Predator spell cast: Predator + Sprint: Predator + Adept 1 Cheetah (+48%): Predator + Cheetah + Sprint: The AA works perfectly fine out of combat, just like every single other in-combat run speed enhancement. The issue anyone might be having is that it doesn't STACK with certain things, like Jboots. If you notice, Jboots just says "increases speed of caster". It doesn't say in or out of combat. It's just like Sow, which it stacks with: So what you are looking at is three kinds of runspeed enhancements, and mounts.Out of combat: Stacks with other things out of combat and in combat. Works out of combat only.In combat: Stacks with other things in combat, and out of combat. Works in and out of combat.Run speed increase: Stacks only with themselves and only if they are spells/item buffs. Works in and out of combat.Mount: Doesn't stack with anything. Works out of combat only.To put it more simply... does Sprint work when you aren't in combat? Yes? Well it has the exact same text... "in-combat run speed".
Message Edited by Raidi Sovin'faile on 12-31-2006 05:45 PM

Thanks for clearing that up =). I didn't know that it did not stack with anything else. Seems to be a useless AA path to me if it's not going to stack with any other in/out of combat speed buffs. PoC FTW =)

What are your thoughts on having that out of combat runspeed in pvp? Is it just a convenience thing or is it something much more beneficial?

I don't play PvP, but I'm guessing the out of combat won't be nearly as noticeable as in combat run speed enhancements.Problem is though, the Fury would have to stand still to do 99% of his abilities... short of a couple combat art AA's or some insta cast stuff, nukes or heals require standing in one spot while casting. So basically, it'll help when you need to get away. Although a Fury giving a group Cheetah could help the non-casters get a edge in the movement situation, especially if they intend to range it.

As long as the person doesn't have ranged capabilities, you can snare / root them for a lil then run away, and get in a few nukes. Works for me.

The run speed buff from peerless works all the time and stacks with the runspeed buff from the druid wisdom line. If you max both of these you will have 45% run speed in and out of combat. I currently only have 40%, but in PvP I can tell you it is a huge help. There are many things that will put you in combat, never having to worry about it is great. And even when you aren't put in combat it's very useful. If you are using a horse or carpet and you hit pact of the cheetah, they do not stack. Your run speed will become 56% (or whatever level of cheetah you have) and you have to use sprint to get the added boost to 100%. However with the AA run speed modifiers, when you hit cheetah you will be running near 100%. When you hit sprint you are running at 75-85% speed. This makes getting away much easier. 30 seconds of cheetah then a power bar of sprint will put a lot of distance between you and a chaster.I can often get away even when snared, I would probably have about 10% more deaths without these skills.
