Hi all. I'm contemplating whether or not I should invest fully in both Snare and Root AA, or just one, or neither! I'm curious on your opinions about how they perform for you all and if you think there is any point in having both. I personally never use either root or snare right now (36 fury) and I believe I solo just fine, but if root and/or snare will help me solo higher mobs, I'm all for it. Your thoughts? Thanks!:smileyhappy:

I for one, encourage you to make posts on almost every board just to expand it and warp the layout with your extremely large annoying username. Please do, it'd make me giggle.

Well, Merry Christmas to you, too!Actually, SOE refuses to change my username. I bought the game the morning it was released in stores and tried all day to register and kept failing miserably. I was typing gibberish trying to get it to go through, and lucky me, it eventually did. Now I'm stuck with it. But hey, a rose by any other name. :smileywink:Don't worry, you didn't hurt my feelings. Ignorant people make me giggle more than my username does.

Well honestly, root improvement is always worthwhile, especially when you are PvE soloing or PvP'ing. But, Snares aren't particularly useful in PvE, but they're great in PvP. I play on Nagafen, and PvP almost exclusively, so I love my snares. Snares are extremely fast casting so they're almost always my opening move for runners in PvP. Also, since snares are kind of a watered down form of control, they don't have immunity timers, so you never have to worry about someone being snare-immune. Obviously, roots are better than snares, but they take longer to cast, and if you get resisted you are in combat and may not get a second chance to stop or slow down your foe. Also, only one person can root someone, so if you have other druids or mages in your group, they might have already rooted your PvP foe. So in a PvP situation, I'd recommend enhancing both your root and your snare.

The flip side of the coin is that there are a lot of useful AA options, so many people prefer to go through the Energy line for damage and one of the other lines for in-combat runspeed or some of the other useful things ... leaving them no points for snares and roots.

My suggestion is that you should improve your root. If you play on a PvP server, seriously consider improving your snare too; but if you do not play on a PvP server, improving your snare is probably wasting AA's.

I'm a viking, get over it. Take it for what it is meant to be, a sarcastic thankyou and a best wishes for the holiday season. I suppose you could sue Soe for actually letting anyone say Merry Christmas, but with so many religions, it will be a hard choice to pick one, and still come out of it, without a cowpie to the face. Get a grip!!! Politically correct in a fantasy online game world.
Message Edited by CodeKiller on 12-13-2006 09:48 AM

I live in the UK and we're not allowed to put any decorations for christmas at my work for 'fear it might offend someone'. That's not being allowed to celebrate the holidays with a few bits of tinsel because the superviser thinks it 'may offend' I can't say anything like 'merry christmas' at all. and have to use 'season's greetings instead - we even had a memo about it!Personally I think it offends people more obviously not celebrating it. ----As for the root Vs Snare I'd recomend the root over the snare if you wish to solo better in a PvE enviroment although I can see the appeal of a betetr snare in PvP. Although naturally getting both will give you the best of both worlds

Message Edited by boli on 12-13-2006 02:28 PM

Well Jewboy you dont have to enjoy Christmas, but dont berate others for wanting to spread a little cheer.

Hi, i'm the troll fromerlly known as Ossot. GJ on ranting.. especially calling me jewboy. I was worried, no one took the bait for a few days. I knew the fury forums wouldn't let me know. Merry xmas to you all.as for snare versus root, I don't even play anymore. But I would've given away my left leg for a root back in the day. So I say root, and stick with our crappy snare we've always had, it's not so shabby with cap'd subjug. (Again.. all from a pvp player perspective)

Message Edited by grimpeeper on 12-13-2006 07:39 AM
