I know people have asked what the best duo for a fury would be, but I have specific examples, classes, and situations I would like to bring up and get some opinions.

My wife normally plays a 54 defiler. I normally play a 50 dirge. We duo 90% of the time we play. We have been working on the Lost Legend of Lavastorm recently and ran into a couple of issues. We will just ask some friends to come help, which is not a problem. However, we are playing some alts at the same time and do not want to run into these same sort of problems with the alts, if we can help it. We do not like asking for help too often, especially for alts we do not play much and will not provide much for the guild. That said, we had trouble killing a 49^^^ heroic. We have also had problems with 47^^^ named. Keep in mind, she is 54.

So she has decided a fury would be fun (she likes healers, her other alt is an inquis...). I have several chars I can duo with this fury. Those would be a necro, bruiser, brigand, assassin, SK, or warden. Which of those characters would most likely work out best for some fairly safe leveling? Which of those would we most likely NOT run into the same issues with have with the defiler/dirge duo? We would like to be able to duo heroics a couple of levels lower for quests, if needed.

I might be looking for too much, but I have seen others not having these problems...

Thanks for any help!

It seems to work best if you have a tank/healer duo, of your choices i would pick sk or bruiser

A brigand can work quite well. Really pump out damage with a brigand + fury combo.

I personally like the bruiser/fury combo. In the current system brawlers tend to take spike damage more than anything and I find the fury is wonderful at taking care of that. The sk/fury combo also works well. While both have feign death I find the bruiser one is much more reliable than the sk but the sk has the ability to feign others if for some reason the partner gets agro that won't come off.

Fury buffs work great on a tank. Bloodlust increases str/agi. The int buff works well on a necromancer (and not bad on a Brigand because it increases his poison damage).

If the necro runs his tank pet, you might have something there, but I suspect you'll do best with a Bruiser or SK. The big advantage an SK has over a Bruiser is mitigation. You're duo-ing, so I don't think Porcupine/Urchin from the Fury will work for you, you'll need the healing in any situation where you'd need the extra mitigation.

I've never run an SK. I assumed a Bruiser did far more DPS, but recently someone told me they could break 1,000 in raid situations with their SK. So, what do I know. Try the SK or Bruiser. My 65 bruiser with only 3 T7 CA's upgraded (One-hundred hand punch at M1 and Rumble at Ad1 and Kidney Punch at App4) has parsed over 750 dps tanking in groups in SoS. I had an assassin put their poison proc on me.

The Bruiser has two blue-background attacks and 1 green-background taunt. He also gets Quarrel-line which has a chance to proc a threat increase whenever he hits a mob. Oh, and his FD is on a very very fast timer. The SK and Necro FD on like a 10 or 15 min timer, no? With a feather, a smart-pulling Bruiser will never wipe. He'll pull the mob to a spot where he can FD and revive your Fury. I dual-box a Bruiser/Fury pair. I regularly take down blue named ^^^ mobs. I can even take down some green x2 epic mobs (the chick in Everfrost, in that cave and the giants in Solusek's Eye and the Lamia in RV).

When the fury hits 45, you get group invis. When the fury hits 55, you get ring of fire (talk about an aggro magnet). The fury's starnova and thunder strike lines give fantastic DPS compared to all of the other healers.

Brigand is the best alternative... I dup with a SK a lot of the time and to be quite frank unless he uses HT I can peel agro stright off him and I normally end up tanking half the time. Never tried a bruiser but Brigand with a good shield decent armour and using his taunting attacks will work as well as any tank... epsecially when you take his debuffs into account.

It all depends on the player playing the sk/brig whatever I spose reading all these posts saying sks suck etc. while I ve experienced sks can rock.

Duoing with a sk who knows his stuff is the best and thats that imo.

I have to agree that duoing with an SK who knows his stuff is great. I have been lucky enough to have 2 great SK's to duo or in some cases trio with depending on the instance. I have grouped with these SK's for most of my levels. I think I have only managed to pull agro on a couple of occassions which were more my fault eg debuffing/regen on the pull or nuking to early. What makes the SK a good partner I think is their aoe taunt as on a group when you get healer agro they just aoe taunt all the mobs attention back.

Lorann Z'Arlathil

Moon Bather of House Rea'Morda

Fury on Antonia Bayle.

In my experience, both classes duo well with a Fury. I duo with my boyfriend, who plays an SK, and we have another Fury in guild who has been duoing a lot with a Brigand. Our buffs compliment either class well (extra INT for the SK plus STR/AGI + Battle Fury proc for the Brig) not to mention the extra mitigation we bring. Fast heals means we can keep up with spike damage well if we pay attention. Plus we have some DPS of our own we can dish out once healing is under control.

So I'd go with either one depending on your personal playstyle.

I think bruisers are similar enough to monks that I can say with confidence they would make an excellent partner. Not too sure if they get group FD like monks do, but that is very handy. For a fighter they put out nice DPS too. There's been no endorsements for Necro's thus far so I thought I'd plug them as well. They are excellent soloer's as it is and don't need much help to put them over the edge. Don't overlook them....

We have been trying the Fury and SK combo and wow! We were taking on even level heroics (26 fury and 32 mentored to 26 SK) in the Rumbler Cave instance in TS. The kills are slower, which is fine with us. Since we played EQ1 we are used to the slower pace.

We tried the bruiser and fury combo but did not have as much luck. Not sure if it would get better at higher levels or not, but the fury seemed to have to heal much more and we went through more power with this combo. It also did not feel as "safe" when it came to multiple mob encounters. The SK has some nice AOEs to help with multiple mobs.

Thanks for the advice all. My wife and I are once again having a blast!
