I'm a bit confused about what will be best for her. I've always dressed her in cloth, but some folks are suggesting I should wear leather. What should the well-dressed Fury be wearing this season?

The rare woven leather is nice. +sta and +wis, and pelts for that tier are usually dirt cheap (~5-10g on my server).

If you don't plan on soloing, there isn't really a necessity to wear leather armor (with a good tank you shouldn't ever get touched lol). Sometimes cloth armor provides better stats for what you need (intelligence, power, etc) to boost. I tend to mix and match leather/cloth to boost int, wis, power and power regen as needed. Plus, alot of leather armor drops tend to be geared toward brusiers/monks stat-wise, so cloth becomes somewhat more appealing.

If you want to primarily solo though, you'd want all the mitigation you can get from the leather armor.

Every fury make that every healer needs to be soloing , even a good tank isn't going to be able to keep you mob free 100% Mobs wander around corners , get trained on you and pop where you didn't expect them. If you are wearing all cloth and have never worked on your defense that isn't going to give the tank reaction time let alone time to target and taunt. Get some leather and go get smacked every now and then.

Yes there are some nice pieces of cloth and i have worn a few but try and keep mit up , you don't know when your going to get hit but it will probably be the worst possible time for the healer to be a smear on the floor.

Oh please, if you are fighting any content that is remotely difficult leather is not going to protect you that much better than cloth. I never said I wear all cloth but mix and match based on stats.

Yes, I've had full sets of rare leather armor. They do do quite well. I'm talking more about gearing yourself BEYOND that. Talking about the legendary and fabled drops in the game as opposed to the 'store-bought' stuff. Lots of the legendary/fabled leather is really geared toward bruisers and monks (unless you get that lucky piece of fury/warden specific stuff). Whereas you see cloth gloves that drop that have 25 int, 25 wis and flowing thought IV... It's really a no-brainer that you want those gloves.

And if you read my post, I said if you plan on soloing a lot you'd want the higher mit in leather. If you aren't planning on soloing and have a good tank you don't need to worry about it so much. Sure the tank might lose aggro now and again, but if your tank is good it won't happen often and they can regain aggro quickly if you do get it. If you're good you can usually avoid getting aggro in the first place or get rid of it fast if you do. I duo alot (have a warden and a fury), and I rarely get aggro unless I'm being careless.

Interesting discussion. I think I'm going to have my tailor make a full set of cloth and a set of leather also. I usually play this character in a group, but there are times when it would be very handy to have more protection and be able to solo a bit more effectively.

Leather is by far better for a fury, and legendary leather is best. Cloth on a fury unless you only grp and never solo is fine, but if you solo any at all, leather is the way to go.

The main thing I really dislike about the new legendary leather is that it just has wis and sta and doesn't have any int on it. That can leave you rather lopsided if you are into upping your dps at all. But yeah if you can afford both sets mix and match and play around with it until you find something you're happy with.
