Good Afternoon. I started EQ2 a week ago. I started out playing a monk, and he's up to about level 22 now. I like the class alot, but its awful bland during combat. I think a magic user is more my style. I come to you here, b/c I'd like you to convince me why I should or shouldn't play a fury. Some points to consider:

I know fury is not a mage. But being heavy on the DD side, I do consider him a magic user.

I lean towards getting most of my level xp through solo/questing. I usually save groups for long weekends or guild events.

I'm still a new player so my understanding of advanced concepts and playskills is somewhat minimal at the moment.

Thank you in advance. Critism is welcome.

Alts are free. Make a Fury alt and convince yourself.

Fury = Best priest DPS

Fury = Decent healer. They can be a main healer in a group, but make a better back-up healer and DPS.

Fury = Poor debuffer

Fury = Ok Melee. Only priest class (with Warden) to be able to use some swords in combat.

Fury = Leather armor. Around levels 48-62 the armor choices are sad, IMHO.

Fury = Best Priest Soloist. Really good in duo with a pet classes. Trios well with Crusader and any other DPS.

My advice is try each of the classes for yourself. You can generally level up a toon enough in a week to get a good feel for the basics of a class. This will be much more valuable than someone telling you about what a class can do.

On a side note.. most healer combat is pretty bland also. Generally a healer wins a tough encounter by outlasting the mob and slowly eatting it away. The mileage varies depending on the class.. some healers last longer but kill slower and some kill faster but dont last as long. If you want more exciting combat where you are kicking the crap out of a mob I would try a scout or mage. I prefer a brigand and summoners (conj/necro) of those two archtypes.
