When I did a search i found quite a few posts on this topic going both ways so I imagine it changed a bit over time.As of this point in time, what is the difference between the ap1 , adept 3 and master versions of P.o.t.C.I saw posts saying there was no difference, I saw some saying that it only changed the range, others saying that the speed increased, some saying the duration.

I just bought at lvl 70 the master version of PotC which is 64% in combat run speed - can get me out of most situations.

The Adept 1 is 48% but not sure of the duration off the top of my head but that's good enough for me now... I run at 93% speed with sow, sprint and Potc.
Message Edited by aeuwave on 04-29-2006 01:09 PM

Good good, because I have to say no matter how many people are with me and freeps show up ( pvp on venekor) the will ignore everyone else and come piling on me and a way out is always a good thing.Haul [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] + potc+ round corner somewhere + camo = safety

A guildmate bought me the master1 of PotC just to be funny, but I use it all the time. 64% runspeed for 36 seconds is a nice little boost - I can't even count the times I used it in Living Tombs while working on the peacock line

Also have the master here and love it. 64% is godly, perfect for when we are charging all the way to the bottom of sanctum, and dmg gets a little heavier than intended.

I like the fact that they changed this to be castable while running. The speed boost is nice, I just wish it lasted a bit longer

at adpt1 plus sprint i can get 88% run speed...might just have to see if i can find a master of it now.

Master 1 PotC + Sprint = People on the fastest horses in the game going "whoah! [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] was that thing that just streaked by me?!"

Fun spell, useful for travel. Saved my group's bacon a few times too (though I admit I would prefer evac).

potc and sprint stack incombat where sow doesnt work incombat and neither potc or sprint work outside of combat only sow.

It works fine both IN and OUT of combat, stacks with sprint in both cases. I have the Master 1 version of the spell, I use it whenever its up to cross zones faster. You don't even have to look at the movement rate in your stats its VISIBLY faster and you will catch up with people easily.

Let me give you an example. The other day I was helping a lower level friend kill Windfeather in TS for the CoD access quest. Running along the shore we saw he was up and flapping around the way he usually does, however he was moving AWAY from us and easily outpacing SoW (this bird is FAST).

I decided to hit PoTC so I could get in range for a quick DoT spell. Well I do so and now we are moving almost the same speed as he is (actually gaining ground a little, but not very quickly). Since PoTC by itself wasnt working for catching him I hit sprint and suddenly I was gaining on him rather quickly. Result was I managed to bag the overgrown seagull before he flew all the way down the path. Note this was all done OUT of combat.

Actual Effects

In combat:-

SoW suspends/de-activates = 0%

PoTC works fine = +64% (M1)

Sprint works fine = +40%

PoTC + Sprint = 104%

Out of combat:-

SoW works fine = +20%

PoTC overides SoW when cast (ie. no stacking of SoW and PoTC)= +64% (M1)

Sprint stacks with either SoW or PoTC = +40%

SoW + Sprint = 60%

PoTC + Sprint = 104%

Message Edited by sabutterworth on 05-10-2006 04:24 PM

I recently started using this for PvP purposes. Nothing like the enemy running away thinking they are gonna escape and then BAM... we catch up and wipe em out. :smileywink:

Don't forget when you need to escape, if your PvP'n abd havta book it, Try Snare + Brambles, then PotC + Sprint. Major space put in between you and your foe in about 6 sec time.

Best time for this is when your 1v1 and a PK add or PK group comes rolling up.

Remember your brambles can be cast without engaging you and stick on PK's that are red to you. Also sez hate reducer, and most hate reduc spells make PK's lose target, don't know if this is true on PvP.
