Since yesterday, mobs the tank "body pulls" are going straight at me. I'm not doing anything, but I do have full buffs up. Its like, some buff that continually ticks off a benefit is causing a tremendous amount of aggro. I *think* its spirit of the bat. Anybody else seeing this?

Absolutely. I have become the resident aggro queen lately. I take great care in keeping my distance and not popping off my first HoT until I see that the tank has hit them to grab their attention so that I avoid as much aggro as possible, but the darn things keep jumping me before I do anything. I'm beginning to think I smell or something..... Honestly, I shower. :smileytongue:

if a fury like and non tank class casts before the tank actually hits it a few times sure your gonna pull aggro especially if your grpd with a tank still using app 1's and although that pre fight HoT is a good idea you will get the aggro. none of your buffs should pull aggro.

Is the tank running out of your buff range? I wonder if the tank running back in ticks off the mobs b/c he now sees you "casting" a bunch of buffs. If its happening over and over again next time try an experiment and run out with the tank when he body pulls. See if that avoids it. I haven't had this happen but I've seen it happen a few times to a Mystic that was in my group. He claims he wasn't warding on the pull or anything but mobs beelined to him.

Furies have always generated huge amounts of agroGroup: before LU13 in a NPC group with alot of mobs and or adds a fury would pull agro from healing and would switch to healing himself, thus generating more agro so the tank would have no chance to pull agro back.Raid: before LU13 it was rare but did happen where EPIC mob would peel from tank kill fury and run back to tank.In groups if tank body pulls if he dosnt taunt fast enough or gets a resist taunt to mob might come for you, but im some zones / area's we just get the agro for some reason. I currently love to get agro, so in group i do not fear it and welcome it, part of my love for my Fury.In current raids i generate huge amounts of agro from the number of healing spells i cast and the amount of healing i do. (HPS) - (healing per sec)In the labs other night i was gettin picked on pretty bad, was doing nothing at all on pull and would have epic slap me down, just wasnt fast enough to use my deagro. For some reason on of the same night in there, 1 epic mob would single my group about 4-5 times during encounter and slap us all down to 10% health was lots of fun, but no other groups in the raid had the same type of damage we got.Do not fear the agro, you must embrace itTaylon 70 FuryNajena

Often wonder about our damage shield.. could there be a possiblity somewhere that even tho the buff is cast on the tank, the agro it is generating is still coming back to us? that as well as agro from our heals COULD explain alot.. have to experiment with that some maybe tonight.

I've always had to deal with more agro than other healing classes - prior to CU, it was an insane difference. My templar friends could pre-cast, do anything they wanted to while if my finger even slightly twitched towards a HoT button the mobs would mow me down.

One thing I've seen mentioned previously is that it might be possible our regen is causing extra agro - With SotB and all the other FT items that I use, I guess it could make sense. I've learned that if I have to pre-cast a HoT then I also cast seize thorns as soon as the tank pulls - that seems to help.

Lubij, Ethereal Legacy70 Fury

I have noticed this too when I am the tank. All i can suggest is to get those taunts off ASAP. If body pulling, then start taunting as soon as mob is a safe distance from others. If pulling by the simple method of attacking the mob, pop off those taunts right away. Seems to help alot but still not 100% of the time.

I have noticed this since I first started my mystic. If the tank body pulls and a taunt is resisted....the mobs come straight for me licking their chops. I actually havent seen this happen with the furys I have grouped with but I will ask around I know our runic buff line has a ward component attached to it that automatically wards for a few hp's so that is my theory.

I do not use to gain too much agroo.

But If the tank is not good and takes too much damage, and do not taugt mobs enougth I gain too much agroo cause I'm being forced to use chain heals on my tank. If I'm forced to employ my full healing potential, few tanks can hold agroo too long.

On Tier 7 few tanks have their taungs at Adept III cause spongy loams is too spensive. So just take care

I've managed to pull a little less aggro than normal but the hate reduction AA is running and has 4 points in it. The AEs in the lab take me down a lot if I'm not careful too.As for the damage shield... My tank likes to have Dmg Shield up even in raids so that he gets a little more aggro. Since it is on him, I think the aggro goes to tank not the fury. Also the Fae line is added aggro to the melee classes since the extra dmg comes from them not fury. If you have both of these running at the same time can usually keep aggro down and save you some hits and allow the Thorns timer to come back up.Also group heals cause aggro because you are healing a ton of HPs at the same time. Remember you don't have to keep everyone in group at full HP to be a good healer.Cale65 Fury of NektulosArchons

Now that you mention it, I did pull some more aggro than normal yesterday. Sometimes I ask for it, and even try to steal it, but I got smacked around alot without trying, with good tanks too.

I am going to try to pay closer attention and try not getting agg next session and see if this still shows true.

My betting is you have a very fast PC and you zone quicker than most people.

I posted about this issue on the defiler forums. Even with all group wards cancelled my girlfriend's defiler gets aggro when a tank pulls mobs that are spread out and some of them are out of range of the group.

One response there said that it's to do with who zones into the zone first. Apparently that's the person who's first in the hate queue. When a group encounter with spread out mobs in it is pulled, any mobs in that encounter out of range of the tank's taunt will check who it is they're supposed to hate, and they'll normally decide to hate the player who was quickest to zone into the zone.

Or something like that.

Makes sense to me, my g/f has a very fast PC too.

you have thorns on the tank? This may be gaining you hate?

does he bow pull? bad

does he proximity pull? bad too

Better yet what is he using to pull? damage? tuant? I like taunt pull followed by damage.

I dont ever pre HOT. UNLESS it's a named and I warn the tank. With tuant resists now, agro can be touchy. At high level mobs will kill you before the tank can get the agro back. Get out of the pre HOT habit now.

HoTs are very much like a Taunt over time - if you cast it at the beginning you have effectively put a hate ticker on the tank when they are still cycling through their first round of taunts.I let the tank go in completely unbuffed and use my fast heals to make sure he doesn't die before throwing on my HoT - it may sometimes be more dangerous but less dangerous that using the HoT... they run at me - I use my deagro (if its up else Tartons Wheel - oooh the fun!) and they turn back to the tank unless one of the mages has got trigger happy in which case they run to him - often the Offtank seeing the problem taunts as well and the whole hate could pass quickly from one memeber to another forcing you to use your Group heal - thus ending up with agro again.Once you reach level 50 however you can use porcupine - which in effect caps their mitigation at 80% (at least it has done on guardians, and only at app1), queue up your fast big heal and get ready to cancel the buff. But yeah... I generate a LOT of hate if I want to I can pull agro - and do some sometimes just for kicks (thornskin and porcupine myself and have a group run at me after AoE nuking them... with my low avoidance I/they get hit a LOT and thanks to porcupine I'm generally OK under the mess.If I do that however I sent a /tell to the tank and say: "don't taunt unless I hit into the oranage; this is actually harming them more than it does me... have fun with it!" Sometimes its nice to mix things up.

Hibernation seems to gettem coming at you fast -- I used to cast this pre-pull, but stopped. They run right at you if you do as of lately, this was as of recent patches.

Yeah I love to lay down ROF - AOE then stifle with vines to let tank re-take aggro.

If you tank body pulls and your damage shield procs and the tank doesnt get a taunt your the first to do damage in the mobs eyes and it will go right for you. if you have a good tank you really shouldent have that much of a problem unless your aoes pull other mobs off the tank =) I have that problem alot. But I love starnova lol

I believe, damage shields are considered neutral damage. They don't generate aggro for anyone. My regular tank body pulls very often and he always has my damage shield on him. In all the times he's body pulled i've never gotten aggro as a result of a damage shield. The only time i pull aggro is when i drop my HoT too early.

If you drop a HoT on the tank on pull or before s/he has taunted enough you are far more likely to pull aggro especially if the Taunts are resisted.

If you're pulling aggro regularly with a variety of different tanks it may well be the order or timing of you heals/cures/nukes and not the fault of the tank.

It's nothing the OP is casting that's doing it. Aggroing mobs that are out of range of the taunt, or walking into a mob's aggro range too, can and often does result in them aggroing the person who zoned in first regardless of whether they've cast anything or have any buffs up or not.

Latoo is right about the zone aggro. A couple thoughts after reading through here....these may or may not apply to the OP. 1) Don't cast hibernate or any HOT's on pull...ur just asking to get bent over 2) Your DS actually registers as dps for whoever its on and therefor increases their agro, not yours 3) Bat and flowing thought don't generate agro 4) If you are a fury between 30-50...try to suck it up. Although I can't explain it, those levels just sucked for druids and agro. It probably has something to do with the relative power of your heals vs what the tanks have for agro generation in those levels. 5) If you're a lvl 70 fury pulling agro, re-evaluate how you play, or who you are playing with. You should not be pulling agro on any kind of a regular basis. You have quick burst heals, so let your tank take a couple hits first to get some agro, then pop off 3 directs, and follow up with bloodflow and hibernation. If you find yourself spamming your 3 group heals and adding in starnova between them, again, you may want to re-evaluate how you play. I am constantly hounding my caster guildies about "agro-control", healers should be practicing the same thing. No wizzard should be tossing out their big [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] nuke first 20 secs of a fight...if they do its not the tanks fault that they got agro...its not SOE's fault that they got agro....its their own [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] fault for not adapting their style of play to how the game is set up. /rant off Hope that helps someone, somewhere.
