I've only played a fury, but I can say that at 23 we get a nice nuke. Our heals have been enough to keep me alive while soloing fairly easily, and in groups I can usually keep everyone in the green if we are taking on yellow cons. Need a good tank and some dps to make that work, but...

My Fury is only level 8 and fresh off the island but I'll give you what info I have. Furies are pretty good at soloing but ^ will give you a lot of issues if they con white or yellow (at least they do me). The Fury has no melee combat arts. All of his damage is done by spells. We have 4 damage spells...2 DoTs, 1 DD nuke, and 1 AoE. That said we're usually doing more damage than other healers which I believe is to compensate for the fact that we can only wear clothe or leather armor. We also tend to be more heal over time oriented than other healer classes which makes us great backup healers but not as efficient as other healers that have more direct single target heals or group heals than we do. All things being equal though...we're a heckuva lot of fun to play. Go us!!!

First we should clear the air of all the BS above this post.

Furies are the #1 DPS healer in EQ2, there is no question about it. Wardens while having some decent spells can't even compete with a Fury of the same level, especially in a group situation. I speak from experience having played both classes to a high level. That being said, a Fury is not the BEST healer in the game but one of the most relied on to keep a tank alive.

Furies have the fastest casting heals in addition to having the most amount of heals on seperate timers. At the end game a fury can precast Hibernation on a group and then throw out their single target HoT on the MT, if anyone pulls aggro away from the tank Hibernation usually is a safeguard that drops in a nice group heal after 10 seconds have elapsed. If things get out of hand a Fury can throw out his/her group HoT and keep their single target HoT on the tank. One of the nice things is that outside of the above healing methods, furies also have a fairly large single target heal, a small heal, a group heal and a single target variable heal (healed amount is based on how hurt the target is), and a quested heal from the Splitpaw saga that has a 10% chance to recover a portion of the furies power supply. That's a lot of healing and not even touching on our emergency heals/hot's and porcupine/urchin.

Wardens will argue that their HoT's are better, but they have a slower 'tick' time. A fury can augment his HoT's with single target and group heals while stacking in Hibernation & their group HoT. In all my time playing I have never ever had a hard time keeping a group alive and am usually asked to be in the MT group on all our guilds raids. Templars used to be the most sought after class for healing, but now they are better paired with a fury for support.

Now lets talk damage output.. it can be intense and a fury can very well pull aggro from a tank faster then normal DPS classes if their not careful. Furies have a single target nuke, an aoe nuke, 2 DoT's (one debuffs defense), a DoT that interrupts & reduces power, an aoe pet (ring of fire) and call of storms (ae). All of this and not even going into any of the AA abilities. On top of this a fury can augment the MT with the thornskin line and the group with the Fae line (100% 3x fire proc for entire group). This should have you sold on a fury already, but lets go into our utility and buffing abilities.

Furies can cast 'spirit of the wolf' on multiple targets, have group invis, which can be invaluable in itself and a good group water breathe spell without a timer. Furies also have 3 ways (maybe 4, I forget) to rez, including a group rez that can be cast in combat, not too shabby. And if things goto crap, a fury with 'pact of the cheetah' at M1 can increase incombat movement of the group by 64% + sprint = 100% run speed increase IN COMBAT.

Now lets go into buffing abilities:

Spirit of the Bat(Single Target): AGI +18.9, In-Combat power regen +9.4, Max Power + 98

Carnal Mask (Group): In-Combat health regen +61, mitigation +549

Spirit of the Hunt (Group): Max health +281, mitigation vs cold +812, mitigation vs heat +1015

Primal Spirit (Group): Int & Wis +66

Incomparable Predator (Self only): STA & AGI + 90, grants see Stealth

Ferine Vim (Single Target): Int + 95, Max power + 646

Primal Fury (Single Target): Str & Agi + 59 & 10% chance on melee to increase DPS by 44% & attack speed by 44%.

Enough said already, Furies own.

(The above spells are all at level 62, Adept 3 or greater)

- Lobo of Reaction
