<DIV> </DIV> <DIV> Ok, forgive the possible obviousness of question, but a comment made by another tank in my group recently surprised me a little. The other fighter claimed he was losing agro because of the thornstorm proc from the Fury in our group (Bristlepelt damage shield? I think that was the spell). Speaking for myself, I've never had this problem when I had any type of damage shield on me, but I really can't say for sure, so thought I would ask here. I'm assuming that what this fighter was saying was that the damage shield of the Fury was generating agro against the Fury whenever the Proc went off against the mobs he was fighting. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> Or, to be more concise, does the "thorns" line of damage shield that druids use cause agro to be generated towards the fury each time it procs due to the mobs hitting the wearer of the damage shield? I always thought that this hate was generated against the wearer of the shield. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> thanks. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
This is incorrect. Damage from that doesn't put aggro on you, the mobs think its aggro from the tank. Although I think that porcupine acts differently than Thornskin. Also, if the tank is loosing aggro cause of the thornskin, they have major issues..... major issues.

I always thought it might increase hate towards the tank, not the Fury. Not sure of a good way to test this without the ability to see the hate table numbers. There seems to have been some changes to some tank classes concerning holding aggro and taunts so maybe your tank was seeing some of that and thinking it the dmg shield. <div></div>

<P>They are correct. On parsing programs a dmg shield does not count as damage dealt by the Fury. It counts toward damage dealt by the tank. Therefore generating more hate from the mob for the tank. The tank that you were grouped with was probably just a big pile of poo. Use a zerker /wink.</P> <P>Mistral</P>

<div></div>If you are getting agro its more likely you are casting your big nukes or aoes too early. The DS would not do it even if it credited it to you. The DS will increase the tanks agro. You need to watch the DS when grouped with enchanters too as it breaks mez resulting in the enchanter getting agro.
