I've got this utter disdain for wearing VLA There's some fabled pants that seem to drop with some frequency in Poet's Palace that are L57 druid only, 14wis + other stats... so finally some good leggings... the LA hands and shoulders have some good wis on them so I gots those... if you solo with any kind of frequency I'd suggest LA as the hits are dramatically less than VLA. I still have the cryptic tunic out of Meeting of the Minds... fabulous if you can get it as it can help your healing by a frequent enough proc to slow mobs if you melee some... Boots I still stick with GEBs... Unless you snag agro so very rarely that it doesn't matter. I'd probably stick with LA simply due to a dead priest generally means a dead group... I would hate to try and think of what it'd be like to heal myself if I went down as fast as the mages do (2 shots and dead often times when fighting level 57-62 mobs at L60 darned agro stealing warlocks... ) Assault hits me for as much as 2k every once in a while ( I think assault and arts like it get fired off every 3-4 fights) so would hit a mage for a good chunk more. Ultimately it'd depend on you and your play style. I know some priests happily wear VLA just for stats alone, but with the shift of mitigation to being completely on armor and not on jewelry, not being in LA makes me nervous

I carry 2 to 3 different sets of armour pieces. If I am soloing, I put on my mitigation and avoidence gear that also gets my INT up. If I am group up, I am more in healing mode and I have mixture of Leather and Light Amour to maximize my powerpool since I am not really going to do lots of dmg. Odds are also is that the pieces I have on to give me anout 300 power isn't going to make a difference living over my other stuff. So I might as well go power and keep the group alive. I also carry a full set of cold gear which I now need to change out cause there is better stuff.

I have a few cloth pieces now..Head, Bracers, Feet that give nice INT and way more power than my leather.

I think the scaled armor is pretty good for furies. Scaled arms, forearms, gloves, and pants give 28 wis, 28 int, lots of mitigation, and some balanced melee stats. I still use tobrin's eyepatch (out of cheepness I guess), Cryptic Tunic cuz it owns, and GEB's cuz they own also. Also, fill the right side with complete pearl, and a cambric sash and you'll be awesome. 92 int, 85 wis, 63 sta, 210hp, 378 power. It's spifftastic

I think?) which I'll probably just wear all the time. The rest will swap in or out depending on if I'm soloing (mitigating + int) vs. raiding (power). So yeah, VLA it is now apparently.... just not always. Le sigh.

Thanks for the input guys....I think I am going to go the swap route too. Use the power stuff for when me and my group are reasonably safe and up the mitigation when soloing or hits are more likely.

I had been lazy in T5, the rare stuff was pretty good and I really didn't feel the need to go thru the hassle.

As someone else said a dead priest = dead group.

As a 2 boxer I have to be ready for what I call "slop" if my furies butt is hanging out and some undead guy decides to take a big fleshy bite outta it... I need to be able to let him have a 2nd bite while I slowly take notice he is being beat on (Troub requires more targeting and movement so my hands and eyes are usually focused there unless I *KNOW* Healing will be really important... for instance high level named heoric or epic mobs)

Therefore I focus on Mitigation with as much power regen as possible... GEBs and Prismatic weap.

Currently I have all T5 rare.. including T5 rare shield... I have a T6 rare armor piece being made by a guild mate. Keep in mind this is my ALT... upgrades to my main come first and I am generally broke and focus on heal spell upgrades first (6 AD3's on Fury or in his bags)

My goal is full T6 rare... minus boots. I know... my wisdom will be hurting... but that mitigation is too important to my playstyle to lose. As I start raiding DoF content more I will be looking for fableds in the slots that have no WIS or INT.... I will use fableds to fix my stats not use fableds to fix my MIT... in the long term both tactics work out.

An update...

I intend to build multiple outifts as I stated above, but my first order of business is to get the mitigation up. So I am now at 3 scaled pieces and one misc. T6 leather piece, on my wrists. As a side note it is going to be hard to give up the Eyepatch, the wis/int and power on that is really nice. The remaining gear is a mix of T5 rares and HQ's and mostly T6 right side stuff.

I am planning on many pearl pieces for the right side as they seem pretty nice. It's also going to be hard getting rid of the Imbued Cedar Buckler someday, the proc and WIS on that is sweet. Looks like the likely replacement will be the Pearl Orb, unless SOE gets their mind right and put some Druid stats on the ironwood buckler.

Before the recent upgrades I tried to solo a green ^^^ heroic spider in Sinking Sands, which resulted in me running with ok health and no power left, due to the need for heals.

Yesterday, not only did I solo those (took a long time), but I tanked Siphon, the named spider in SS. My groupmates were a 45 necro and a 41 defiler. We won! Not by much though, and both of us priests used our emergency heals too.

So ya, the T6 mitigation increase is huge!

Now to build a "power outfit"....

Narral 53 fury, 57 alchy

I tend to loo at it as..If the Tank is dead = Dead Group. This applies to hard mobs and Mobs where a Fury wouldn't be able to take on alone. If raiding, how offten does the raid live if the tank drops? It tends to end in a wipe if only one tank.

If in groups, odds are I am not going to be getting hit. If I am getting hit, then 2 things are wrong. One, I did something wrong to get the mob on me, or 2 the tank isn't taunting enough or doing his roll. There is a 3rd on here but really no ones fault and that is the case of AE dmg.

If I die in groups it is cause of Spell dmg and correct me if I am wrong on this but Mitigation doesn't effect spell dmg, resists do. If fighting a raid mob, Mitigation on our stuff isn't going to do jack no matter how high you get it. We will get toast in 1 to 3 hits no matter what. Let a leather Druid tank a mob that is Epic and see how long he lasts .

Mitigation is nice, but on avg most Fury's will be about 1,500. An extra 500 Mitigation isn't going to help us much when a mob is hitting for 3,000+.

If our tank dies I do 2 things..I move into a safe spot to get the body on corpse recover and just wait till death. Or I cheeta away, if in clear area, and let the crew die and come back and rez them.

Now if you solo a lot, by all means get that Mitigation up as much as possibly along with keeping your power pool as high as you can.

Message Edited by Tigerj on 10-26-2005 03:02 PM
