Symbols, talismans, shields and weapons....

<DIV>Just dinged to 40 and I was wondering something....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If and when do you start just carrying symbols instead of shields and/or weapons?  Right now I don't run OOP too often (self buffed almost 2000) but I could easily get higher but at the loss of dmg and some AC and resists.  What have you in the 40+ range found to be the best choice or the best comprimise?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I realize there are a tremendous number of possible combo's <EM>but in general </EM>what have you found in your travels?</DIV>

oak buckler, pristine forged feysteel battlehammer. it's a nice combo... i sorta want to go back to the bo staff, if only for the great fighting animation.

Until our aggro it tuned down somewhat (if it happens) I get wailed on too often for having the audacity to heal... (in reference to one of Moorguard's posts where he says healers shouldn't spam heals - like we have a choice) so no way I'd loose the AC and much more importantly the blocking of a shield for a 2hb or symbol. Although when I finish the Herio crook I'll probably attune it and play around some.

I'm using Feywood Wand and pristine conditioned cedar buckler. Previously I use symbol coz they give better wis/power but this buckler has 12 wis and good def, everything I want, hehe.

I have raid mob scourge and a totem or something. The AC makes little difference when the mob hits you for 3k.

<DIV>I used a cedar shield for a while, and this is a recommended.  Only reason i went back to a symbol is because i got a master drop with 16int/16wis and  a built in power regen.  Otherwise i would still be using my cear buckler.  Best stats in game to be honest, unless you get a master drop (or some raid drop).</DIV>
