I am a lvl 32 fury. I almost always duo with a pally. We have a good bit of healing power and are able to take down most group mobs up to even con but it often takes a while due to us not having a whole lot of DPS. I use all the extra DPS spells I have keeping proc buffs up and using DOTs and HOs and of course even melee right along with him. I am curious if any other furies out there melee much and if so what weapons are you using. I just upgraded from starfall mace to a dual wield mace with a little less damage but is faster and has better stats. Anyone know of a really good one hand weapon for a fury (I like to use a shield because I get agro a lot if there is more than one mob or we get an add they always come to me first).Omarian

Yeah, I melee all the time as well. Makes the fights much more fun. Can't stand just hanging back and casting heals. /yawn. I put all the melee buffs up on myself. With Kitty form (Maul), both procs, and blessed weapon proc I actually do ok DPS with just melee - 10dps or so most times. Yeah, that isn't much to the 70+ melees are doing, but its "free" dmg.I use Ghoulbane now, was using Ebon Long Sword. GB gives just a slight amount less of hp/power but a tad more damage - plus it looks cool! Although GB is blue to me and sword was yellow. I was also using a 1hb to keep skill up (deathfist utility hammer) but refused to attune it post patch. One thing to make others in your group happy (or at least not care that the silly Fury is meleeing). Learn to ID the mobs that will barrage and stay out of range till the first one (they almost always do it right away once in "camp"). And of course don't stand in the front b/c of rips and whatnot.

At 33 I'm using a Feysteel Morning Star. I bought it off the broker so I have no idea where it actually comes from. Does pretty good damage and has decent stats, considering.
44 I use a feyood wand.2int/3agi/5str/7wis 30hp/29power11-32 presently, 1.9 delay.
<DIV>I duo with a pally as well. We are both currently level 35 and have a difficult time for some reason doing grouped mobs as they nearly -always- aggro on me. I was using a Feysteel Morningstar but have since upgraded to some kind of mace I can't remember that I got doing a Feerott quest.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I use the panther illusion as well for increased damage. I'd be interested in hearing how other furies successfully duo with a fighter type killing grouped mobs. I get all my buffs in on him and myself before he pulls and even throw a regen on him before hand.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks in advance!</DIV>

with only one mob I almost never get agro. pally pulls with a taunt and usually throws a run or buff on himslef after pull (this adds HUGE agro it seems). He has several buffs that transfer agro to him as well as taunts; it's very important to make sure his taunts are as upgraded as possible. Also the weapon and dps he is using makes a big difference. I am only 32 so not sure if agro problem gets worse in the next few levels, but unless we have multiple mobs I almost never get agro now unless he runs out of power for a while.

<DIV>I always like to jump into melee, even in a full group. If possible, I like to self-buff with my DPS enhancers, which I use as a timer to let me know when to rebuff the group (I hide the "maintained buff" window and just leave the "buffs on me" window up).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At 42, my 1H weapons are my old trusty Moonlight Mace (from a Zek quest) and a (Icy?) Langseaxe, which I bought off the broker (suspect it's an Everfrost drop). Of course, my shield is the Ice-Chipped Buckler, again presumably an Everfrost drop.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My main weapon lately has been the Hierophant's Crook. The additional weapon and proc damage seem to outweigh the AC loss against all but the very toughest opponents, and the WIS loss in comparison to the 1H + shield congifguation is miminal.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>IIRC, there's a player-crafted 1HB + shield combo at every tier which you can buy at the start of the tier and which won't go white until the end (ie, buy it at 30 and use until 39). Don't recall what materials they are at each tier, but a quick check of the broker should show you.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>HTH.</DIV>

<DIV>I play with another fury and he loves to get close to the fight. The bad part is when mobs are flurrying. I use more power keeping him healed than the main tank.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When I have a tank I don't melee the fighter type mobs till they are out of power. This is very true for tough fights. I've had a flurry take half my hps in one hit before. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
