View Full Version : Melee Warden DPS Comparison Requested

<DIV>For a while now, I wanted to have been looking for a class with variety and fun. I want to be able to melee with a mob (preferably handle adds) and output reasonable DPS. I also want to be able to cast some cool spells as well and take a decent hit. I do not need to be "the best" in any of these categories (I guess the hybrid classes always appeal to me more). Anyway, I have tried to get these requirements from playing a troub (which I am pretty happy with, although he is a bit squishy at times). How does the melee AA spec'd Warden compare DPS wise to a troub or other classes...looking at both casting DPS and melee DPS? I am just looking to find a good reference for the damage they can put out via the AA combat arts.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks!</DIV>

<DIV>On the few fights i have parsed .... I do around 400 dps single mobs with str at 450 using 1.4 delay 1 handed sword (cuz im lazy) ....lvl 70 with rank 5 CA's, But no 75% mele crit yet. Other's in diff situations have stated doing 2&3 times that though.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://www.eq2requiem.com/images/mksig.jpg"></DIV>

You won't have anything resembling scout dps on a priest. But you'd get slightly closer picking the dps priest (fury) at least if you're gonna be one. Have you tried dirge? I've never played a troub but my dirge hasn't had any trouble standing her ground in combat.<div></div>

<P>I haven't regeared completely for melee yet, but i was parsing 500ish last night. Same fights the Fury was parsing 1200-1300 though. If you are looking for a dps priest, pick a fury.</P> <P> </P>

My Warden stands up much better in a fight than my Dirge and he kills the mobs just as fast.

<P>So i finally got my 75% mele crits ..... The mobs definately go down faster ....but when i parsed it I was only hitting 4-5 hundred ...spikeing up to 750 once in awhile.</P> <P>And i was using the BlackScale Maul ......Saw hits for over 1000 pretty regular......maybe sumthin wrong with the way ive got my parser set up?</P>
<div></div>Tried Warden Melee, with a Staff of the Flappy Wing, i was parsing 400-450top solo, quite the same DPS as my dirge friend. The real Problem, is not the STR, not the dmg of the CA, its the real lack of weapons, SoE could correct this if we were able to use 2H Sword (Like the one Furies can use, it would be a good weapon for meleing Warden), but finding a good hammer, with a delay of 2.5s,3s,4s ... well, GL, there're a few :p<div></div><p>Message Edited by Dinrae on <span class=date_text>01-09-2007</span> <span class=time_text>05:50 AM</span>

<div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div>well, i've found 2 weapons particularly good (atleast i like em)The droag kukri (2.5s delay 1h slasher with nice max dmg) ---a queastable weapon iirc, andThe blackscale maul (8.0s delay 2h crusher with very nice max dmg)The kukri's max dmg is around 120. With ~ 400 str my crit melee hits seem to be ~180, so... 3x180 = 540The maul's max dmg is around 540. With ~ 400 str my crit melee hits seem to be ~ 750(not calculated, this is from my memory... also the weapon dmg values may be somewhat off, but thats how i remember those and again not the real dmg value, those are the ones you see when ya examine the weapons)The mauls seems to win. (3x 180, because you get 3 hits with the kukri vs. the maul in the same time, unhasted). However, if you miss, then you loose more by using the maul. Also, you can use shield with the kukri and dont have to swap weapons to get the haste (very minor issue).Im not sure, if the doubleattack is normalized or not, but if it isnt, then the faster weapons are better. However, im pretty sure that the natural boon (heal proc from KoS STR tree) is normalized, which maybe makes the maul better? <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Lol... anyway, the DPS between these 2 weapons didnt seem to vary that much. According to my friend, i did ~700 DPS using either weapon, so... *shrug*I have logged my fights, but been too lazy to fully analyse the results myself. (maul vs. kukri)Maybe someday... <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />The maul is SLOW, but... *shrug* I still like it a lot... ++Xan<div></div><p>Message Edited by xandez on <span class=date_text>01-11-2007</span> <span class=time_text>05:26 PM</span>

<P>My warden is maxed in the Str line, and has the 75% crit rate. I use Obsidian Scimitar for my 1h, and Spirit forged flail for my 2h. If i only <STRONG>auto attack</STRONG> with scimitar i do 340-380 dps, and if i only <STRONG>auto attack</STRONG> with flail i get 400-440 dps. They both have the molten adornment on them with the heat DoT. When i solo in Acad, i can still heal myself and hold 800-1000 dps . When on raids i push around 700-800 dps and still do 25% + of the total raids heals since being in MT group. The heal proc i get from Str line is maxed and prox at 16% so when on a raid and im melee'ing it actually consists of 8-12% of my total heals which is really nice</P> <P> </P>

<P>Just got it a couple days ago, and from what I've noticed it's ok, I'm a MT warden and I want to try it out putting primative instinct on me etc, but obviously that goes on the MT. I parsed about 750-775 dps with a fated cipherblade and the princes dps item in a raid every once in a while i'd break 800. But a couple thing's ive noticed. 1. The adornment you can put on your symbol that grants more cold damage, doesn't work with these ca's so don't bother or [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] cause imo they should cause they don't specify what kind of damage it is. 2. sadly they follow the same rule melee ca's have being if you miss they fully reset on the normal timer vs when a spell resists you get a faster reset so if your melee skills suck or you can't get in a group where you can add to your stats then it's not worth it, at least in raids. </P> <P>This line is real nice in groups / soloing however I parsed about 660-700 doing a heroic instance, and soloing I haven't really tried but stuff does die a lot faster because your not getting interrupted, etc. </P> <P>My big prob with this line is our fabled gear, from what I've seen, doesn't really help us with this AA line, I'm yet to see a lot of str (or even stam) from the warden only armor I've gotten, and you'd think if they gave us a CA line that relies on str some of our fabled gear would have it... And curious does the subzero bonus from the fabled armor apply to the ca's? Only gotten one piece here so don't know.</P>
