View Full Version : What is the point that adding wis doesn't help now?
I stopped playing about 1 week after KoS came out, and I just came back a few days ago. I saw mention that there is a point where adding more to a stat falls off (as opposed to a soft cap where it just goes up to that point and then just stops), but have not been able to figure out that point. Right now I can self buff to around 400 wisdom at 60, is there any reason to fill those two new slots (second ear and cloak) and change out some other slots with better wis gear that is out now than what I have? Or should I be looking into getting my int up (its only around 150) for a little more nuking power for soloing? I solo a lot, group some and almost never raid. I also do not PvP.<div></div>

<DIV>All stats are now on a (very gradual) curve, meaning that if you're low in a stat, you'll get more of a boost from a 10-point increase than if you're already very high, as opposed to the old system where every point helped just as much right up until the old hard cap. The new caps, thus, are *way* higher than the old ones, but you'll start seeing less benefit from additional points quite a ways before you start having to worry about hitting the actual limit.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, really, the question is now 'do you want more of what Wis does for you?' instead of 'are you at the cap?' Wisdom in the 400s is very good for your level, more would still help you, but at that point putting on some Int or Agi gear instead won't slow you down or [Removed for Content] your character. Without knowing what your other stats are, if you solo a lot, raising Int for better nukes or Agi for a bit more defense will make your ride a lot smoother than going for maximum possible Wis.</DIV>

<P>I did some checking with Wisdom in reguards to increasing resists (pre Eof)....by swaping out gear and buffing.........and came up with the maxiumum resist pts = 2.4 per 1 wisdom pt......decreasing to 1 per 1.....if a particular resist was high. But also 0 in some cases. I wonder if maybe they have increased the 2.4 #........meaning we can buff the main tank for more resists accross the board..........Or is buffing another healer with the Wisdom/pwr buff going to be a better choice now?</P> <P>Any thoughts people......:smileyindifferent:</P>

My little fae warden is now 52 and i always went for max wis on everything... except a doll with +15 str to carry my copper around <span>:smileytongue:</span>At lvl 52 i just got a full item upgrade so i have now around.. 550 wis, lol, and about 4500 power. I took the spirit of the bat upgrade too, so about 20 FT, and +10 from the training choices. I'm far higher than the "old cap" but wis seems just fine anyway. I don't see anything else that could be useful for now, considering all items (mastercrafted) with + wis also have +sta, and most of them +int... That's all i need. I play mostly in groups and i can solo heal almost everything i need to, simply because i have almost the same mana pool as 2 random healers together <span>:smileyvery-happy:</span> With potions and some help from above (hello Tunare), i can't remember the last time i was out of mana. It helps a lot with resists too, i have about 40-56% all resists, and the only stuff i wear with resists is my armor...So wisdom seems all good for me. Even when soloing, i don't need more int for damage, the increase won't be enough to help. I spend more time to kill a mob, but i can solo 10 or 15 solo encounters before i have to worry about my power, and usually the short travel time between each mob is enough.<div></div>
