Try and get Adept 1 of your spells AT LEAST. Try and get the best quality of everything you can afford. </P> <P>In my opinion, on a PvP server, your money should go to armor first, since the mitigation will keep you alive and the stat bonuses will give you more power, even if your spells are not the highest quality. If you at all can, work to upgrade both armor and spells, but if you have to pick between them at first, I say go armor. You can have master spells, but if they killed you like a hot knife through butter, it doesn't matter how good your heals are.</P> <P>2) Absolutely harvest rares to get your Adept 3's - my advice is upgrade your spells before you upgrade your rings and whatnot (rare stones make both items), heals first.</P> <P>3) For your 14 Upgrade choice, I'd pick Winds of Renewal. As you can see Regrowth upgrades at 19 ..which is not far down the road for you, tier 2 (10 - 19) goes fast. If you are PvPing either solo or with a group, your group regen is always the spell you can use even if taunted off a single target. </P> <P>What I mean by this is: the other side's job is to make sure you don't heal. If you have someone targeted (single target) to heal, and the other side's tank taunts you, you will lose that target, have to regain it, and lose that time casting. A group regen, however, will heal even if no one single person is targeted. Plus the Master 2 quality of that regen is nice, and it will not be upgraded for 14 levels - also very nice to have it for that long in Master 2.</P> <P>If you are on the Freeport side..welcome <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> If you are on the Qeynos side....welcome too...but level fast, little tasty morsel! <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>Regards, <BR></P>
<div></div>Thanks for the reply Ariel. I am on the Qeynos side so I have more ppl to fight. On the Armor subject should I just go to the broker? Vendor or try to find a Player to make me some armor?I tried lookin up Adept 1 Spells on the Broker... WOW. Ppl wanted like a few G's for them. I dont even have 1G!I just read about harvesting rares.. I dreally dont even know how that all works yet. Is that the "?"s you see in the ground and can harvest?Ive tried lvling in The Cave or something but constantly killed by like a full group of lvl14 all day =DAlso does our Food/Water Spell ever become decent? I was looking at the OOC Regen it provides and its worse than the food/water my toon started with! Im so tempted to buy food/water from a vendor but moneys tight! I really wouldnt chose a pvp server to learn the game as it can be a pain somtimes. But if you must one of the most important things to learn as a healer is ooc healing of urself. This will say ur life countless times while en enemy wastes all his power and then u can kill em. ooc healing for other peeps is 1 of those bonuses you can do but most of the time I was a warden I just said screw it and let lower peeps fight there own battles. Nothing I hate more than a freep with an end game healer attached so I usually didn't do it to them.<div></div>

It's probably the one of the biggest complaints the devs get. "Immortal Healing" is the worst mechanic available in the game - where the lvl 70 is out there healing the level 20's so they can get faction and status they couldn't otherwise get because they suck. (Side note: when we see an immortal healer on our alts, we usually kill them, camp, get on our mains and kill them again. We disapprove of the mechanic..<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> )</P> <P>That rant over....(what I meant to say is: dont' get used to it as an available mechanic...it works if you are attacked, but not if you attack first. ...for now)</P> <P>What I might do, if you are out harvesting a lot, but are not sure you want to tradeskill: Find someone who does the skill you need and offer to trade harvests for armor, spells, jewelry, etc. Many, many tradeskillers, especially on the Qeynos side would prefer not to harvest cause they get killed all the time. If you are more adventurous, and are out getting what they need, you could have a very nice trade arrangement going. (Before someone jumps on me...it's not a Qeynos criticism...its, as the OP said...Qeynos gets beat up more).</P> <P>Don't buy vendor armor. (Vendor being different than broker...).. If you examine it, you will notice it doesn't have any stat bonuses - unlike most dropped or crafted does. If you get a piece of dropped armor with no stats on it...sell it. We fondly refer to it as 'vendor trash' <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Try and get equipment that has SOME stats on it. Whatever you can afford. Sell EVERYTHING you bring in that you don't need. </P> <P>If you start crafting and are making things in the 10-19 and 20-29 range, you might find you make a lot of money. Lots of people are making alts and level locking them to PvP. So you wouldn't have to grind a tradeskill to 70 in order to finally see some profit. </P> <P>And thank you for reading the Warden FAQ. It was written just for you...and you have made Mullen a Happy Warden.../hugs</P> <P>P.S. No. The food/water summon spell never become decent. Ever. Buy or make your own food. Even lower tiered food (1-9) crafted..is better than the Summon Food and Water spell. And if anyone (past level 5) asks you to summon them some food and water...in a group...type /leave LOL. (ok maybe I exaggerate, but not much).</P> <P>P.P.S. Hard to comment about good places to level solo - Some wardens are able to solo easily, I hate being solo. As a matter of fact, if you EVER see me solo...something just went horribly wrong. The best thing to do is shop around, start meeting people, and get into a good group. Group PvP is why I came to my server (abandoning a 62 Warden and Templar on PvE... <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ) - if you just want 1v1 pvp, try rolling a character on a non PvP server to try it out...you can Duel there, and solo level to your heart's content without getting ganked.<BR></P><p>Message Edited by Arielle Nightshade on <span class=date_text>10-07-2006</span> <span class=time_text>11:39 AM</span>

Thanks for all the help so far. I think I am going to take up whatever cooking is for better food/water. Wouldnt mind tailoring for some decent leather but oh well.....I have a new character trait to choose which is based on resistances... for PvP which is the most important resist to focus on.? I realize all are important but is there 1 resist is particular I should focus on. Like in EQ I know Magic was the biggest to avoid snares/root/etc.<div></div>

<DIV>It depends on what you are fighting. Cold and Heat is not such a necessary resistance to choose, since that's what Wardens buff the best. I realllly hate telling you how to make yourself invulnerable to enemy attack since you are Qeynosian. I will say: Who are you fighting..and what is the damage they do the most? That's the resistance you should have....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I juuust can't...say...more!! GAH!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>::grin:::</DIV>

<DIV>You guys don't forget to start looking at your Achievement Skill lines. Look at "Skills" in your menu and get at least the first one. Make sure you get a good look at what each path does, so you can allot points to the next skill on the fly - cause you've already chosen how you are going to go.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You get Achievement points from exploration discoveries, killing nameds, doing quests, and turning in collections. There are some nice things there for PvPers...take a look at the FAQ to see...if you can't quite figure it out in your User Interface.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Yeah i hear its greatness for a warden :O. I want a bow!</DIV>
There is a six part progressive quest starting at level 20 for wardens, rewarding you with a different piece of armor for each completed quest<font color="#ffff00"><b>For Qeynos Wardens</b></font><font color="#ffff00">:</font> South Qeynos, under the tree on the east side. Selwyn Oakheart will give you quests for all your armour pieces. <a target="_blank" href="http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/SelwynsErrandsPartI.php"><span>http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/SelwynsErrandsPartI.php</span></a>Is that worthwhile to do? It seems in most games stuff from quests is usually pretty crappy so before I go trek off and do this I just wanna make sure the rewards are worthwhile!<div></div>

<DIV>Yep..well worth it. Every single piece has Wis on it. There are many Wardens who have worn some of those pieces well past when they might have gotten other armor because of that. It's a fun quest line. Well..it's fun the first time. After that, you'll never do it again...and will run screaming <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Kind of a rite of passage. I have alts that do other things, too, but Provisioner is kind of a necessary trade to have, IMO. </P> <P>Here's one of those situations where you can make a harvesting agreement. Many provisioners will trade you food for raws - usually 50% worth for the raws you give them, although it depends on the provisioner. If you can't stand tradeskilling, ask in the crafting channel if anyone wants a harvester. LOTS of provisioners (myself included, since my provisioning alt is a lvl 10 adventurer) would jump at the chance. If you don't mind taking the harvesting risk on the PvP servers, they'd happily cook food for you that also helps level their tradeskill. It's pretty much win/win.</P> <P>But short answer: Try and get crafted food. There are one or two quests that give good food too, but they are not repeatable (in most cases) and good food and drink are an on-going requirement.<BR></P>

Simply because if you have done AQ's to the 4th one, you have been a ton of places and killed a Named or two that might have dinged that point. Other than Antonica only place I have been is FMG, TS and SH. Its kinda funny when I group with other ppl and they start throwing out acronyms I have to tell them I have no clue what they are talking about. But doing the AQ in SH some ppl helped me and I got a Master Spell Book(Dirge I think) which they told me is worth a decent amount on the Broker.Luckily this one guy showed me how to get my house and helped me out a bunch with showing me how to get started on tradeskills cuz I was pretty lost.<div></div>

<DIV>LOL about the acronyms for everything. All my characters until this server have been Qeynos (which is why my friends and I went Freeport...to try something different). Someone asked me to meet them in LS...I zoned into Lavastorm, which has always been MY "LS"...they meant Longshadow Alley.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
Off Warden Topic... when I mouse over my AA it says requires KoS. We bought EQ2 from direct2drive.com from the eq2 website. Is there a way to tell what xpacks you have?<div></div>

Your Station Account details page should have all the expansions and adventure packs that are linked to your account. In a month you'll get the EoF expansion which has everything except the adventure packs. As a side note about acronyms, you get used to the eventually. When I came back to EQ I had the hardest time figuring out what the hell people were talking about too! <div></div>
<div></div>Hrm, I dont see anything on my account page so I guess that means I have no xpacks. =(Gues that means I need KoS, Adv 1,2,3 and DoF.... look at my acronym skills.Today I also took the boat for the first time to TS. 60silver just for a ticket! I have like 4gs total. I got in a group in TS and I had to have them explain to me how to take the boat cuz someone took me to do the griffon quest in TS yesterday.<div></div><p>Message Edited by Gop on <span class=date_text>10-09-2006</span> <span class=time_text>02:42 PM</span>

<DIV>Yeah. but from TS you can get to Nek, EL, LS and EF!!!! (LOL (teasing you) ) </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You do need the adventure packs. You have to have KoS in order to start accruing AA...so you want to get at least that if you can. Splitpaw is a fun pack to have, and Bloodlines is vastly underrated - fun zone, good xp... a well-spent $4.99, IMO.</DIV>

I would wait to get the xpacks if I were him/her... even kos because at the lower lvls, aaxp comes fairly slowly aside from the first point (and our starter abil, while nice, isn't really a make or break you thing), but if s/he waits to get the xpacks, they'll come bundled with eof for like 40 bucks.<div></div>

Again...find a sage that will trade you spells for harvests. That is a good way to afford upgrades. Upgrade your spells the best you can...if that's AppIV, then definitely..just upgrade when you can. Harvest for rares too and make that arrangement with a sage (or level one yourself...you can have a crafter that never adventures).<BR>

<P>It depends on if you group, solo, or are pvp, but for PVE group warden probably:</P> <OL> <LI>The single HOT</LI> <LI>The group HOT</LI> <LI>The single (big) direct heal</LI> <LI>Your debuff/dot & nuke</LI> <LI>Group mitigation buff</LI> <LI>Shapechange (for mitigation)</LI></OL> <P>If you have M2 then you don't need to upgrade the others. I would also have a bias towards upgrading your more recent spells. A spell from 7 levels ago isn't going to be around nearly as long.</P>
So I started to look into crafted armor and I about lvl 32 so I was going to get the Tailored Woven Engraved Set made. For a helm I was going to do the quest from the Warden FAQ:Level 30+ Enchanted Lands, Deputy Nettlebrine on the steps down from the dock. <a href="http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/StartofSomethingBig.php" target="_blank">http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/StartofSomethingBig.php</a>The difficulty is there isnt a good db with items from tradeskills, EQTraders is ok.Any suggestions on crafted jewelery around lvl32 I can look into? Also looking at crafted jewelery they all seem to have no resists... do you prefer going to do quests for jewelery with resists or just go with crafted?Thanks<div></div>

You can try this site for equipment searches <font color="#ffff00"><a href="http://www.eq2idb.com/index.php" target=_blank>http://www.eq2idb.com/index.php </a> <font color="#ffffff">Unfortunately, you cant do a generic search for all jewelry, but you can do ring, wrist, neck, etc. Also give mob drop information. There is an ingame version that you can download, but I've just used the web based search. Good site.</font> </font><div></div>

I think the warden FAQ is wrong, and in tier 2 you can only use the rough coral for the adept3 recipies. I'm at work now and cant confirm in game, but if I'm reading EQ2 traders corner correctly, it got changed somewhere along the line (prolly when rare loams were introduced). I'll confirm when I get home. Hopefully no one was too affected by this, but if you bought a whole bunch of silver clusters off the broker because they were cheaper than corals, I do certainly apologize. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>
Well went harvesting today in EL.. and was running for my life most the time from some big eyeballs. But I did get one Rough Opal!Yea I like to read a lot of stuff so hopefully I dont waste my time or money on stuff that I dont need or need to be doing.<div></div>

It's the spell that comes from the Bloodlines adventure pack, but you don't have to have it to get it. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The spell increases agi by 18.4, your power pool by 98, and then has an in-combat power regen of 9.4 per tick. It's one I use all the time, either on myself or on an agi-based class (like scout...) or a brawler (who benefits greatly from the agi buff) to increase thier power pool and in combat regen. If you only have one opal, that's the one tier 4 spell you will use till 70.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Or you could blow it on a heal ::grin:::</DIV>

<DIV>from a pvp stand point blow it on the heals! or get an adept 3 version of a nuke</DIV>
To this point my PvP XP has been getting jumped harvesting. Me standing there.. pop a hp/power regen totem and just heal myself till they run out of power while I spam /dance. Then start attacking and then they run while resisting my App I nukes and root.So I was going to use the rare on my lvl35 root when I get there. Lvl31 now. <div></div>Well I do group for xp and a few times I have went in a preformed PvP group. But 90% of the PvP I encounter is when I am out harvesting solo.
