Hey guys, I have been playing a Templar for God knows how long and my Warden is just shy of being able to raid. So I know Plate healer gear but have paid no attention to Warden usable gear. So what do ya'll think I should get? I have a decent slashing weapon (lvl 68 Fabled) already and all spells are M1 or better (So far). What gear should I shoot for? I won't be getting relic unless it's the best because IMO it's a waste of DKP if I plan to upgrade it in the same tier.

Hiya --I play a Fury on nektulos so I can't TOTALLY speak for wardens but you are generally correct about the relic especially for wardens cuz most of the stuff has tons of wis that you don't really need. That being said, the relic legs are actually pretty nice, but most animist gear > relic gear for druids, farming the labs weekly should set you up with some nice pieces. Hat is better for sure. I'd like to have either relic or animist boots but I still wear GEBs cuz never dropped for me.I like the leather gloves off the bloodbeast in HOS or the leather ones off the mono. Ashengaze Hide Jerkin is nice BP to have but somewhat hard luck to find so relic isn't a bad option (esp for dps). There are two legendary bracers that drop in rost that pwn any bracers I've seen in KOS. shoulderpads of suffering are nice have a proc on kill shot and ft3 and are generally better than either item that drops in labs. Do the claymore and get fitzpizzle's misty and the Arm for your secondary and ranged, and if you are really wanting to be the best healer, pick up a nice wand or rod so you can use the AA to increase your crit heals. I wear the bone-clasped girdle as a belt cuz it has nice proc. I also steal aggro in groups a lot so I use buckler of winged for the proctection. i don't have claymore items yet so buckler/symbol will work until i do.I'd like to see what warden's are thinking but most of the best gear has tons of WIS and INT so the stuff we like overlaps.

to elaborate: you need a staff to turn into the treant for crit heals. you don't need it to take the stamina line and get the crit heals from that.

For the extra heal crits all you need to do is use the buff with a staff equiped and then switch out the staff. As long as you don't zone you'll keep the extra heal crit % chance.

As for items there's a lot out there. Here's what I think are the best:

aITEM 784328755 640028441:Chitinous Leather Skullcap/a - MO drop

aITEM 1081615320 1655353689:Shoulderpads of Suffering/a

aITEM 1069326072 -2002627046:Feathered Bracers/a

aITEM 912307120 -1899150785rimeval Keeper's Gloves/a

aITEM -9234885 376131124:Elder's Leggings of Nature/a - the extra on the heal is a must and helps a lot despite no int

aITEM -509605761 -1830309545:Elder's Boots of Nature/a or aITEM 624627723 -396520865:Animist's Treads/a

Animist treads give a bonus to run speed which reminds me of t5, running around all fast so would be my favorite. I think these are the best warden drops in the game.

Hiya, sort of along the same lines as the OP, i have just moved my exiled Fury over to qeynos and converted him to warden, to be a main healer for my guild as and when he is required, obviously with the change in buffs and dps, he seems to have a major problem soloing in Splitpaw, mainly because i have to heal so much compared to when i did as a Fury, obviously i know this is down to pure DPS and how much more the fury has, but i also think he needs a decent upgrade in items/armour.my guy is level 44 could anyone reccomend what armour/items i should be on the look out for? or what player made stuff is decent, pretty clueless in the crafting areas.cheers for any help

Couple things -- The keeper's gloves drop off one of the mono's so keep gotta get luck in more ways than one to pick em up.if you are in need of int, relic > suffering but otherwise, suffering wins hands down cuz of the power and FT3. But also, just a quick message to OP that I didn't mention in my reply: relic gear give some really nice resists that some of the nicer stat pieces leave off. It's not a bad idea to have a set of back-up gear that you can switch in and out for resists (which is what you need for raids anyway) espec. if it all matches and looks cool when you are running around town. Relic is a nice easy way to gear up and most pieces are not a waste of dkp imo.

Don't forget you have a root and in a few levels you'll get undergrowth which is an encounter wide root. That'll make your life a lot easier.

We don't put a lot of effort into the monoliths anymore for various reasons but now I'll have to push my guild for it. Depending on how your guild does dkp I'd worry about the cap last since it has only WIS and no resists. If you really need the FT maybe it'll be different for you.

Thanks guys, keep them coming. Luckily, there is another Warden in my guild who can help me pick gear but I am sure we haven't seen everything. Dang ultra rare drops.

Cheers for the reply, switched some armour and jewellery this weekend, and went back down to Splitpaw was much easier.
