View Full Version : Charm Animal

I'll admit it, I was sceptical about this ability. I don't like having to drop buffs to use it, and because its iffy at best, it scared me. I almost disregarded it.

Big mistake. This ability makes soloing basilisk writs in BM a pleasure. I've only got 4 points in it atm (its gonna get maxed after tonite) but it lasts almost the entire duration charming spiders in BM, and it makes basilisks go down extremely quickly. I'm starting to understand why coercers can rock through SoS with a charmed droag, charming a pet adds an incredible DPS boost and keeps the heat off of you better then anything else I've found. EoF will almost certainly have more things for me to charm, as will the fallen dynasty, so I'm sure it will become more useful in the future, but I'd recomend it just for doing KoS writs. Seriously guys, that speedbump on the way to shortening the time between tics on greater chloroplast is actually a pretty cool ability.

Now my question; is there anything other then spiders that are charmable in BM? Basilisks arn't. Just looking for a better pet for those pesky writs. Appreciate the help.

Only other animal mobs I've seen to charm are the drone beetles on dreadnever and ravasect isles and the down arrow bats on shattered weir. The spiders are the best I know of.

Currently I'm fully STA/INT and will just trade INT in for AGI and see how it goes. Hopefully there will be a free respec in time for the AP.
There are some animal mobs in the next adv pack you should go and play on test and beta prime a toon to 70 to check it out

i like this feature, too. i was able to kill 67 and 68 basilisk while harvesting when they were still red to me, just i had the charmed animal, the tree and the 4 wolves. the animals sometims even have temp buffs availabe. some falcons in pillars have dps mods etc. the animals in bonemire have sentinel watch. i am able to kill named mobs alone just because i have a spider charmed in bonemire. and as stated above, the power goes up much faster when a animal is charmed. you can use cheap drinks then.

Does the tree heal your charmed pets?

Well currently you can go to test server and make a new toon of any class and click a bell near the boat on the isle of refuge then you will go to the fallen dynasty beta zone where you can get your toon insta lvl 70 lvled (by hailing a guide npc there he isnt always up tho).

So you can play around on test with a lvl 70 toon.

You gotta set up some stuff to be able to play on test but Im sure theres more info on the boards somewhere.
