Hey all.

I could use some help figuring out how the cap(s?) system works and if there is a way to approximately figure out the maximum amount of power we can have. At lvl 57 with T6 rare armor, Screaming Mace, Tome of the Greenblood & Winterblight Buckler + ring buffs I have Wis 360 - Power 4231.

I have heard the number 7 x lvl mentioned but not sure exactly what this covers?

Reason I'm asking is that I always seem to 'cap out' in raids (and occasionally in groups too), at lvl 55 it was 4,599. Lvl 56 brought it to 4686 it seems which could mean that I will reach a max of 4900 - 5000 at lvl 60 in raids. Considering Aspect of the Hawk + Benefaction of the Wild at Adept 3 or better, this could mean:

1) I should choose a non-WIS prismatic weapon when I get there

2) Better to have a cobalt imbued longsword than a hammer for that Palace..

Any help/clarification would be appreciated. :smileyhappy:

Message Edited by Larsbohnstedt on 11-20-2005 09:26 AM

I have 5295 power self buffed, ungrouped, no food/potions/ring buffs. (Level 60) Last night in a raid group I had 6085. I wear prismatic, a mix of t5/6 fabled and legendary armor. Benefaction/Hawk both adept 3. Self buffed after I got legs from ahket aken I was at 436 wis... I go well over 500 pretty easily on most raids.

Cap on wis is 420 for a level 60. I don't believe there is a cap on power.

Self buffed I have 460ish wis and 5300 power, I do in fact use a prismatic, but I wish I would have grabbed the int one, since wardens seem to struggle in that department =/

As the last poster stated, raid buffed I have been well over 6k.

Cheers!

For a lvl 60 the wisdom cap is 420 + base stats (including the wis trait skill options)

Sadly though I am almost 500 wisdom now and I am going to try for int gear instead. My main focus is to get the druid only gear first for physical mitigation, that alone will cap my wis with the warden buffs. Then Im going to have to start all over with my jewelry and get int, sta jewelry. Time to throw away that wis hex doll and get an int one.

Power on the other hand cannot be capped. You can always pick the high +power items and that will boost your power a lot.

Anyone know what the cap is for lvl 40? 50?

The Formula is 7 * (current level) + base stats

So to answer it would be:

280 + base stats at lvl 40

350 + base stats at lvl 50

what does +int do for a warden?

Shennr

+int = more spell dmg

+wis = power + resists

+sta = hp

+str = more melee dmg + carrying capacity

+agi = more avoidance

What race are you? I was under the impression it was 7 * level + beginning racial stat.

BTW, sig looks good, but does that say Domination? Looks llike Dmination, or Omination :smileytongue:

Message Edited by Spagma on 12-07-2005 09:48 PM

Max wis cap is 60 * 7 + 20 = 440 for me even though my race (high elf) has a starting WIS of 30. Is it supposed to be lvl*7 + starting wis? Oh and a mage told me their cap is 420. Can anyone confirm that?

doesn't seem to make sense to me to go the +int route as a healer - unless you have reach your max wisdom at lvl60

+int for spell damage?...doesn't seem to be our role as dps...+agi would seem to make a lot more sense to avoid incoming damage

maybe if you wnt to solo a lot...

Message Edited by Treveur on 12-12-2005 03:43 PM

You'd be surprised at the amount of damage a warden can put out when he goes for int. A fellow warden in my guild has gone the int route, and while he has perhaps 700 less power than I do self-buffed, his Adept 1 Winter's Sting does almost as much as my Master 1, and his AE regularly hits for over 1k. Also, it's easy to self-buff to the Wis cap. I'm certainly at that point, and I've started using int gear instead of Wis gear simply because I can't actually use any more Wis.

Yeah there's a cap to wis.. after 440 at lvl 60 it won't do anything at all for you; no power, no resists, no anything. And with all the wis gear found all over the place in dof, 440 for a warden is extremely easy to get self buffed

A warden is a healer first and foremost. Sacrificing healing power for a nuke is just not something I would do. I've had the option of taking Wild Growth Master1 and respeccing, but it is not something I feel is beneficial to my guild as their raid warden. Other priest classes like inqs get a debuff as one of their master2 options at 54, and in their case it would make sense to take the master2 debuff if you had the master1 heal. I don't know about anyone else, but power can be a huge issue in raids. I'm always one of the first OOP and I don't think I would be wasting what power I did have nuking. I would therefore think very carefully about selecting a nuke instead of a heal at master2, depending on what you going to be doing in the engame. Non raid stuff, the nuke would be ok, but if you plan to raid, it's the heal all the way.

First, only one druid needs to cast the spell in a raid. It is not like the other priest classspecialties which can be recast by another player immediately after the first gets burned through. Having everyone keeping wild growth at master 2 is a waste if some get wild growth master 1. Second, the difference is maybe 8-10 hp/tick. It's not going to affect raid healing.

I can say the same thing. The extra 100 or so dmg between master1 andmaster2 hoarfrost will mean absolutely nothing in the context of the half a million hps a raid mob has. My primary job on a raid is to heal, and I do not have the power to spare to do anything else. I'm not even going to touch how often you get cold resistant mobs, but hey each to their own.

I had adept 3 hoarfrost - if I had m1 I'd have upgraded thorns (if I get all 3 I dunno what I'll do). And the difference in damage is way way more than 100. Remember that your damage (whether from a nuke or a damage shield)) can be buffed while heals cannot. And if you spend as much time as my guild does farming eyes in SC you'll know how many elementals we go through and the damage increase is multiplied by 2. The dps increase is substantial.Again you only need one druid with the m2 HoT so it has 0 affect on raid healing as long as there is more than 1 druid (and we usually have 3-4). So even if I have cold resistant mobs to face (not nearly as often as T5 though), I save power for the direct heals anyway.

I have M1 of the other 3 choices, so M2 Wild Growth is an obvious choice for me, even if an M1 book fell into my hands. On the other hand, if I didn't have the others and I got an M1 WG, I too would probably go for a respec, as the healing difference is completely negligible. I *do* nuke on raids occasionally- with *well* over 5k power, I'm always one of the last to run out unless we're being sloppy and I have to spot-heal half the raid force.

To add onto that the upgrade from M1 to M2 of Wild Growth is only 13 hp per tick. And since so many of my ticks get waisted on raids anyways and there are usually 2 other druids on the raid I /respeced to M2 Hoarfrost. I have also worked up my Int and on raids I can hit for 2700 with Hoarfrost in SC. I would have to say that is a very good trade off if you can find the M1 of Wild Growth.
Message Edited by Shennron on 12-13-2005 12:44 AM
