Last night we were raiding in The Gates of Ahket Aken (which we hadn't done since before the last change to our spells). I found that right off the pull (especially with the gel cubes) they would come straight for me... usually smoking me before I had a chance to get thier license plate number...

This never happened before with the exact same group setups... has one of our buffs had it's aggro generation increased?

In one specific example I stood WAY WAY back when the raid spawned the cubes... the things ran right through the raid and around a corner to smoke me before moving back to the MT... while I appreciate the attention, I really don't like being mobbed

Cheers!

Who was tanking for you? What class? It may not be us..but may be Them. The devs have been ..um..adjusting...some combat arts, from what I've been reading and your tank may not have known it.

Message Edited by Arielle Nightshade on 11-12-2005 08:19 AM

This is definitely an issue. We were farming Tremblar last night (I'm 60 now) and whenever the Symbiants would pop, they'd tear into me before they were even visible. I know exactly where each wave spawns and tried to avoid being at or near that point, but regardless, I was the first person with aggro on each series (one of which involved a Shard Recovery Quest).

I further have witnessed this upon pulling Cazel and a couple other T6 instances.

I think we mayneed to do a bit of testing with regards to which of our buffs is causing the problem.

Here is my normal buff situation:

Tank gets Aspect, Instincts, Spores and Thorncoat, SotB

I get Aspect

Group gets Benediction, Essence of the Great Bear and Spirit of the Oak

I can eliminate Sandstorm, Exaltation and Protecting Grove as the problem sources.

In regards to the tank, it was a 60 zerker tanking, and he was using AE taunts. The taunt would land but the cubes would still come and kill me before moving back to the tank.

I am using aspect, spores, and instinct lines on the tank, no thorns. Other buffs are always up...

This was not an issue before the last 'fix' to the warden class.

It's not a warden issue but a bug with certain zones like AA. Basically when the raid zones in, the zone will choose one person out of the 24, to which any untaunted mob will run straight for. It has nothing to do with what you are doing, and is just the luck of the draw whether you get picked.

I never had this problem in Tremblar previous to LU 13 and I find it difficult to believe that they modified a T5 instance in such a way as to create this bug. Lets face it, they did nothing to T5 raids for a long while.

Actually I have found that the Mystics are having a much harder time keeping aggro off of them at the beginning of pulls. Them and Wizards it seems.

Oberon seems to draw plenty of aggro even before the pull starts. The Wizards have a buff, dont know what it is, that gets them aggro without even casting a spell.

Shaman ward aggro is totally unrelated to the OP's problem. I would however hazard a guess that wizzy aggro on pull is related to the zone bug picking a random person to asign non taunted mob aggro to. It is a bug and it is 100% replicable.

As for T5 instances also displaying the bug, that's not entirely suprising. The combat revamp effected ALL mobs, not just T6, so I wouldn't be too surprised if T5 zones have the same buggy code. It's probably more noticeable in zones like Tremblar, where it is more likely for mobs to pop and aggro people before the tank taunts. As for Cazels, some of the named mobs there are highly resistant to taunt so they will go for the healers, simply because we are going to be annoying them the most on pull.

This would explain why, when finsihing off Fire and Ice for some lower guildies, that I got jumped by 3 epics the moment the guardian taunted. They ran straigh past him and started pounding the Warden. I managed to think "WT" before I died, not even managing to get the F out.

The only zone I've really seen this in is Ahket Aken. And yes, it's it really is a problem.

There's definitely some screwy aggro in Gates. Last night it was our ranger who was having fun with it- he'd get smacked down just for being there, even while AFK on a few pulls- and I'm reasonably certain it wasn't some uber ranger buff getting him the aggro. Not to mention the "encounter aggro resets on mob death" bug that's been there since the beginning of the game and still pops up sometimes: one mob dies and the rest all find *different* targets to go kill. I could understand it if someone AE'd and pulled aggro as one died, but when every mob in the group finds a completely different target the instant the first dies, something's wrong.
