View Full Version : T5 Weapon Choices

Hey folks, was just wondering what kind of weapons everyone is using in t5. I've always leaned toward the one handed crushers, currently using an imbued feysteel morning star, but its seriously green at this point and looking for an upgrade. I know screaming mace is popular, but its looking like a long time before I can get the help to finish that quest. Any other good alternatives? I'm thinking about just going for an imbued ebon morning star, but wanting to make sure its the best choice. Thanks! <div></div>

<DIV>I've got a imbued Cedar club. good stats and nice proc on it.</DIV>
At 42, I have three that I keep with me: a pristine thought imbued cedar wand, a +16wis one hander (can't think of the name at the moment) and ghoulbane. I really should mount ghoulbane, but I just can't seem to give it up. <div></div>

Imbued Cedar Wand! It has a free 8 second right clicky nuke, and although I must admit its sloooow casting, its mana free and does a nice job of finishing off mobs or adding a little oomph in long fights. You can also snare/kite heroics with it (solo) if you're bored. Just work on the screaming mace tho, :p <div></div>
Yeah, I'd suggest an imbued cedar wand. I got the magic version and haven't been disappointed. After that, the withered totem of widdershins (from the heart of fear quest in CT) or the screaming mace are nice.. <div></div>

<DIV>Ebon imbued scimitar - nice stats (can't remember them offhand...but nice), nice proc...but will try the cedar wand too..sounds good! </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also I keep a crushing weapon and a slashing weapon in inventory and switch them to make sure my skills for both stay up. The crush weapon of the moment is an imbued mace..can't remember the material it's made of..will also check. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I use the Proudfoot morningstar actually ... I like the stats a lot and it does good melee damage... and I found that I almost never used the clicky on the wand.</DIV>
By the time imbued stuff came out I had already gotten my prismatic. Up until then, I too was a big fan of the Proudfoot Morningstar and Withered Totem of Widdershins. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

<DIV>Imbued Mace is Fulginate....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I love the Proudfoot morningstar too...excellent stats, good damage. I do play from the standpoint of: It's not my weapon that's doing all the damage because for us, weapon damage is minimal. The wands, however, look like they really do some - so I'm going to give one a try.</DIV>

<P>The Wands are okay and thier clicky is nice and all but people seem to forget that Wardens already have at least 2 melee procs running that do good damage, going with a 3rd proc (IE the Cedar Club) makes for some serious proc damage that fires off in between other damage your doing etc. Overall you'll end up doing a lot more in most fights and theres no waiting involved. </P> <P>With that in mind.. an Ebon Imbued weapon or a Cedar Imbued weapon are nice ways to go til you can get something better like the Screaming Mace.</P> <P>I really wanted a Ebon Scimitar but I couldn't justify spending over 2 plat on something with the same exact stats as something I can spend 40 gold to get. So I went with the Imbued Cedar Club instead. Also carry around a Proudfoot Morning Star but I end up using my Club 90% of the time. Also have a Imubed Cedar Wand and i've pretty much given up on it at this point.</P>

wands are neat, but the long cast makes them a bad idea imo. you can't interupt the cast, so if you need to deliver an "oh $pit" heal, you're sunk. did some parsing, and damage from standing on the back of a mob swinging a decent 1hander, you'll do about the same damage as 1 cast of a wand per 8 seconds. this factors in procs btw. i use a widdershin totem on my druid btw.

Wow, that's awesome. Thanks for sharing the examines on all those, and thanks to everyone for contributing. (Wardens Rock!) Decided to go with the imbued ebon morning star, will see how it works till I can get some of that hotness in the image above. Thanks, Xailes <div></div>

<P>We got a scaled scimitar a couple of days ago. Might have been off of darathar. Personally I like the Ancient Combine Longsword that dropped off of Tremblar better. I don't have these but they are links from our guild events page. The big key with prismatics is they are now the best power regen item in the game. So while the stats might be nice but its the power regen that makes them indispensible. That said I may try to get myself that sword one day when i decide to increase my slashing skill. </P> <img src=http://home.earthlink.net/~sbjnyc/swords.jpg> <P>There is also wyrmsteel. They only work on prismatic dragons (and Darathar) and are surprisingly good because of the added damage, though the stats aren't so great (but since stats don't mean much that's not a huge negative). The wands are very nice but I am missing the 40% slow one currently (doesn't pay to fall asleep at the forge). <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <img src=http://home.earthlink.net/~sbjnyc/wyrmsteel.jpg><p>Message Edited by Unmasked on <span class=date_text>07-16-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:24 AM</span>

Just stick it in your huse vault at a reasonable price and you'd come back to your room and find an extra couple of plat in your account. I sell all the time but then again I'm also a crafter. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
