It is supposed to be a level/class based instance just for your charicter, why can't I solo this?

There are yellow, white and orange mobs in groups of 5 or more. With all the spell interrupts I die in minutes of entering the instance. My beau insists I should be able to solo this since it is based on your level and class. ( I think it is only level based I have not seen mention of it being tailored to your class) But being a gaurdian he really wouldn't know much about how to solo a healer class, though he has tried to advise, this is probably a better place to ask.

I am 32 Warden on Guk server....am I the only lame wolf who can't solo splitpaw?

I am also on Guk and solo'd it at your level. I never saw orange mobs in the instance or a group of mobs with more than 4 in the encounter. Cons ranged from blue to yellow. I actually thought it was quite easy really and figured our class was one of the best at solo'ing it hehe As far as the interrupts go, generally I put blessing of the grove on myself (have the training HoT which I use normally, but in this case duration is better) and go full out DPS on the caster (land both dots before silence if you can, they don't have that many hp's) and once they are down, it is trivial. And of course, always make sure you use your HO's!

1. First make sure you have decent gear and buff up your resists, especially magic, mental and divine. If you have it (37+), add Nereid's kiss for the resists. Spirit of the Bat is nice for the in-combat regen. Numbing spores (not sure what level) and thorns are nice as well.

2. Examine the group you will be fighting. You want to kill the casters first, especially the deceivers, followed by agitators, usurpers (sp?) heretics, pariahs (best healers) etc...and the other nuker classes. Contrary to many others, I don't focus on the healers, if they put up a ward or heal, I switch targets, either to them or another mob. They don't have much mana so they can't heal too many times.

3. Prior to engaging, put up your regen of choice and if needed arcane purification (will also temporarily buff resists) then immediately engage the most problematic caster (deciever) with your cold dot and melee. Immediately try and get an HO with Frost and another nuke off as quick as possible. (This should kill or nearly kill the mob) Finish with melee or another nuke. Push through any stuns by recasting. Add a Natures Caress if your health drops and you can cast it (the regen from it helps).

4. If and when you get silenced, mezzed or charmed it should be at the first of the fight when your regen is ticking and there is a small amount of regen from the Arcane Cure. With decent resists, gear and agi you should have a reasonable amount of health left when the silence breaks (hopefully your dot and mellee kills the silencer). In any case have a heal (Natures Caress) queued for when silence does break.

5. Other than that just HO like crazy and heal as needed, the mobs will drop fast. I prefer HO-Frost- Frost and not dot other than at the beginning because the mobs die too fast. I do use the Cold dot on longer mobs with a lot of hit-points.

The only other tip is take your time and kill any roamers before engaging the groups.

Dan

Message Edited by Danluyen on 06-20-2005 04:24 PM

Message Edited by Danluyen on 06-20-2005 04:32 PM

I'm also on Guk and have really enjoyed soloing this instance as the XP is pretty decent (I think I was getting nearly 10% for everytime I went through at 45).

My advice to you is, like everyone else said, take out the casters first (the enchanter-types being the most important to dispose of). Also make you you take out the wanderers as they are a bit stronger than the group mobs since they are solo. Keep your Nereid's up at all times as well as any of the secondary buffs you have at your level (spores, thorns, instinct).

You should be able to solo this zone easily, and while the drops aren't that great, the XP is worth it.

Good luck!

They appear to have maintained the naming conventions that they used in EQ1 Splitpaw.

Rosch - mage class

Nisch (I may have this one a bit off, begins with N though) - cleric class

Lleth - scout class

Tesch - fighter class

The version of the class is identified by the secondary name (deceiver, aggitator, swindler, etc). I have not personally gone through the preorder dungeon enough to get a firm grasp of each one yet. In general, anything with the hint of Rosch in their title dies first and as quick as I can make it. Then Nisch, then Whichever is left (Haven't had too many Lleths and Teschs in the same group, so I haven't come to a pecking order on them yet).

Swindler - Troubadour or Dirge

Scrapper - I believe they are bruisers or monks. All I know is they hurt

Yep great advice here, up your magic resists as much as you can that will help with the silencing. I always hot myself and then enter combat, If im getting silenced real bad I just hot myself again after the silence wears off, usually the mobs are oop by the time it wears off again. As far as stunning goes Ive found its mostly from the agitators pets so thats who I tend to take down next.
