<DIV>True to form (see my signature below) I love to have a ton of alts. Trouble is; trying to find a main. I have posted many places and have come down to the Melee Warden and Battlecleric Inq. </DIV> <DIV>I like being able to do a lot of things. I played Druids and Shamans in EQ1, heretics and Friars in DAoC. I loved being able to heal, melee, buff or whatever is needed. Being on a PvP server, I also want to be tough to kill, to at least give my self a chance to react or help out my group. Yes, I group a lot. Yes, we have designated healers.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I honestly don't know where to post the question, so here it goes:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Wardens wear leather, good buffs, quick heals, decent CAs, 1 hand slash attack that heals as well, sow, aoe roots, ports, damage shields and I am sure more</DIV> <DIV>Inq wear plate, good buffs, big heals, great CAs, a root at higher levels and I am sure some other goodies.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would hope that the Inq would tank better with the Plate, would be more tough to kill and perhaps bring more to the group (Vitae pre-battle vs. Spamming heals). That said, it seems that Wardens are still the toughest to kill for whatever reason.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am still a noob, still learning these classes and may be waaaay offbase. But still, if someone could help tell me who does better melee damage, who does better nuke damage, who is better in PvP and who is wanted more on raids etc, it would really help.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks and have a great new year!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<div></div>wardens cast faster, and have better avoidance, which is why they would be harder to kill. the fact that their main heal doesnt require them to be hit also helpsan inquis melee specced is actually quite a formidable force if you have the right weapon, but the nukes will be much smaller compared to a warden (but being melee specced, all your nukes would turn to CAs anyway)inquisitors debuff some pretty good stats as far as pvp goes, STR/INT, so any foe's damage is lowered, then mitigation vs. all, so you hit harder with everything, and crush/slash/pierce will make it harder for a melee class to hit you. our reverse damage shields are very effective against any class but mages, and we have a fear/aggro dump and a root/stifle, but neither can be maintained for more than 10 or so seconds iirc.<p>Message Edited by jago quicksilver on <span class=date_text>01-02-2007</span> <span class=time_text>12:28 PM</span>

<DIV>Warden's avoidance is great against non heroics and in pvp, but avoidance is lacking against heroics because heroics get a pretty signifigant chance to hit and most avoidance based classes no longer do well against them.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The biggest reason I can imagine a warden being tougher to beat in pvp is simply because they cast a lot faster. I would guess this is a huge advantage in pvp. I think wardens big heal casts faster than inquisitors little heal, but I'm not sure on that.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Inquisitors have more combat art potential than a warden in my opinion because they can get a full +100% to crits and a big plus to their crushing skill. I have not tested it at all so maybe I'm way off, but I'm guessing inquisitor combat arts are the highest priest dps against a single target.</DIV>

<DIV>I've played a fury (now deleted since I got bored with it) and now Im working on my battle cleric. (Gunning for 100% mele crits and 5 points in my CA AAs).</DIV> <DIV>What I can see so far, now with my melee at 50% and CAs at 3,1,1 and 2 MC pieces the rest being quested and all my skills at app 1, I am pretty close to a fury for 1 vs 1 at least. Once I get enough AAs to fill out the battle cleric, I expect to be quite nasty. So far I can take melee classes 1 vs 1 pretty reliably, yellow or down. (That is, if they dont realize they arent gonna win and turn and run. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> )</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The problem is healing in groups. My group heal has an immense casting timer (for pvp, where the clothie or scouts can go down in 2-3 seconds) so you need a druid to do the Oh Crap! healing, and you can do the reliable keeping everything rolling heals. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV>Not to mention, being a battle cleric and playing it like a tank, people almost never figure out Im a healer so they leave me alone. Cant say that about the poor druids.</DIV>
