View Full Version : Something Weird going down with the Verdict???

So over the weekend I was finishing up my CoF and was noticing something weird with Verdict. Now this is really hard to explain but it appears that Verdict can be innerupted while waiting for it to go off. But casting spells don't interupt it. See example below. Solo mob hits 24%. Cast Verdict, it is not resisted. I see the hammer start to fall and boom, get hit by a mob. Interupted, the hammer starts to fall again, boom get hit by a mob. interupted, the hammer starts to fall again and finally completes its action, setting the mobs life to 1 HP. This is really [Removed for Content] weird do to the fact that the spell is INSTA!!! cast. Meaning you should not be able to be interupted. I am thinking this is a bug introduced when they tried to "fix" the AA verdict. How can a spell that im not casting be interupted?!?!?!? <div></div>

Agreed. I have been seeing weird (or different behavior) also. I do not have the Enhance: Verdict AA, but I was landing it on the boss in Lyceum last night and I heard the hammer sound like 5-6 times before it landed (meaning I had resists), and the reuse never got used. I wasn't debuffed and I have never seen it not land that much before. I have also seen it seeming to land at 2% and nothing happens.More logging on verdict is needed so we can really pin down its proper behavior.<div></div>

I already mentioned about it in another thread. when verdict landed on the mob it doesn't mean it will trigger. even it triggers it doesn't mean the mob hp will be set to 1 hp. it can be resisted by the mob. all the trigger spells work like this. same with compelled repentance too.in kos the trigger hit chance is 100%. that means your verdict will trigger and setup the mob's hp to 1. in eof, when verdict triggers it doesn't mean it will set the mob's hp to 1. the trigger can be resisted. that hammer effect doesn't mean anything really. the effect will show for sure, it's more like you cast a spell on a mob say invocation. you will see the lighting hit the mob. that just doesn't mean the mob will take damage. if the mob resisted your invocation, you will still see the lightning effect but no damage. samething here for verdict.I am not sure it's a bug or they made it work like this. it's the same thing with compelled repentance. when compelled repentance land on a player or a mob, they used a CA. compelled will trigger, stun the player or the mob for 2.5 seconds with an mount of damage. if the mob or the player resistance is very high. it will trigger for sure.. but no stun, no damage, no resist message will show up, just nothing happens and wait for the next trigger till it's off. samething happens like verdict. but no matter what... it will cost you some power, and your reuse timer will be set to 45 seconds. <div></div>

Jina, I totally agree with your assessment in this thread and in the other one. I just want to see some official information - none of this is in patch notes, its all from anecdotal evidence since Verdict barely has any logging. I just want to understand from a developer what the idea is and what the exact changes were.<div></div>

<div></div>Well, this is what i feel... the more I play this class, i feel more disappointed about it. I am thinking about vengeance works the same way too.devs do read the forum for sure. they just go back test it, ninja changed it. they don't give excuses. they don't explain how does it works. they don't tell you when, what has been fixed. it just happens that's what they do.<div></div><p>Message Edited by Demoniac on <span class=date_text>12-27-2006</span> <span class=time_text>09:14 AM</span>

<P>Hey guys, now that I am back at home and off the road for a while, I will see what I can do about dragging a dev down somewhere and give this a run through, I know I use verdict alot and cant imagine how frustrating it is with some behind the scenes changes. Heh gonna have to have him buff my AAs up some to get the enhanced verdict as well, I've been gone toooooo long. Too bad I won't be able to keep them Bah!</P> <P>Will let ya know what I find out.</P><p>Message Edited by Kadurm on <span class=date_text>12-28-2006</span> <span class=time_text>08:32 AM</span>

Thanks Cimee, I would suggest doing thorough tests with both regular and without the AA if possible, I see weird stuff too and I don't even have it. That way you maybe can figure out what is going on better.<div></div>

heh, yeah. Kidnap, beg, bribe, threaten. Whatever it takes, and will try it out with both enhanced and without.

Okies, so I FINALLY got in touch with one of our QA persons on test and gave him the run down of issues with verdict. He said that he would look into it and I am compliling a list or write up to email him so he can go over it in detail. Funny thing is though, he seemed more facinated and steamed about the lack of information given by the spell in combat chat as far as it not showing how much damage it did or that it only says, "soandso mob is hit with verdict" So maybe along with some investigations into the spell, we might actually start seeing it's damage in numbers. Would be nice to see exactly what that thing is doing.Just updating you guys. Will let ya know what I find out.

Thanks Cimee! I wanted more logging around verdict so hopefully he can get to this, we don't need to be attributed the damage but just seeing more information would be nice. (Who casted it, resists etc.)<div></div>
