this to me.We get to keep Ruthless Invocation, Affliction, Absolving Flames etc. as spells plus we get a series of combat arts?I was under the impression that the spells were being replaced by combat arts.<div></div>

they are not replaced.. they are new combat abilities, but they share the same reuse timer...sorry i didn't really understand your question..<div></div>

The CAs aren't really replacing anything, they are just offering you another option.  Think of it as something similar to the Bounty of the Vitorus (sp) from Splitpaw, this spell is on the same cast timer as our small direct heal.  However, it did not replace the heal, it just gave us another option to choose from.  CAs can become better than the spells you mentioned if you invest enough AAs in them (especially if you are like me and can not find all of our offensive spells).

<DIV>It's rather situational.  You can use the new spells instead of their counterparts when the situation presents itself.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <DIV>For instance the Litany line (Area spell line).  The new Litany is an "instead-of" spell but it's a true Area of Effect instead of Encounter based.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In a case where you are in a "safe spot" and are getting adds, you might want to use the new Litany.  In a dangerous dungeon with non-aggro NPCs nearby, you would want to use the old litany.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Take Invocation and the baby DoT.  The range on these spells is shorter, the recast time is longer, the cast time is shorter in some instances. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>These abilities don't really replace, but they add another dimension in playing your character, gives you more options in battle and based on the way you like to play.</DIV></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
