<DIV>Hello there,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>First of all, english is not my native language, so i hope there won't be too much spelling or grammar errors :smileywink:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I just came back to the game with a friend after a long break (one year). I left after the combat revamp, not because of the game (i liked it a lot) but because of my guild, now, i'm back, so i took a look at my characters. I have a 50 templar and 55 illusionnist, i stopped playing the templar after lvl 50: it was boring. I thought i probably wouldn't play her at all again, then i read about the new betrayal and... wow ! Exactly what i needed, i always wanted to be an inquisitor but again, had to betray to qeynos and become a templar to better fit the roleplay of my guild. Needless to say, as soon as i saw that i logged back my character to do the betrayal, and finally become what i always wanted to be, a happy little inquisitor :smileytongue:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>After some testing i really like it, it's a better "battle priest" than the templar and that's my playstyle. I have a lot more things to do during the fights and it's fun, but now i have to admit that some questions come to my mind, i hope some of you can answer <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>First, my gear. I don't have anything good, mainly crafted gear with a few mastercrafted. I have no guild now and i don't plan to have one, so no raid for me (i don't like it anyway), and probably very little grouping, i'm mostly a soloer. That said, what stats should i go for ? I think wisdom and int, with stamina as third, but it's a lot different than my mage, she had 300+ int with her self buff at lvl 50 and with my inq i don't even hit 200 in anything. So is there something wrong, or are the caps really that hard to reach for a priest ? Is there any good thing i *must* have, i mean, something not too long to get or too hard, that i can do solo or with a pick up group. I remember there was some good DOF drops for mage and easy to get one year ago, but it's been a long time since then and i have no idea where to go or what to look for as an inquisitor.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>About my spells, it's a bit weird sometimes. I have all of them adept 1, with a few masters and the master II single reactive heal. But some spells just seem not to be worth the mana to cast, or others just don't trigger at all.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Coerced repentance: is there a special thing to do to allow the spell to trigger ? I casted it conscienciously (spelling ? :p ) on every mob, then noticed that it stays for the full duration and disappears by itself, with probably only one or even 0 triggers of the spell. I tried on everything, caster, fighters, scouts mobs... I don't really understand when it is supposed to work.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Harrowing inquest: Should i cast this spell on my friend (SK) or on myself when we play together ? I cast it on him but it doesn't seem to trigger a lot. I had more triggers while soloing... but i cast more spells too, not sure what would be the best choice.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Generally, i tend to run out of mana faster than with my templar, especially when i have to do mainly healing. So during big fights i stop debuffing or dps and rely only on heals, it's a lot better and we do better that way, but i feel bad using only 2 or 3 spells, i thought the debuff and other spells would be more effective. What are the spells to use during "hard" fights ? The melee skills debuff is nice but too short, it's hard mana wise when i have to cast it every 36sec when we fight waves of aggros for 2 or 3Min.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Zealotry, i'm a bit disappointed with that spell. When we play together, i find that it's better for our dps that i just land dots and debuff on the mob than keeping zealotry up and being stifled. I think it's better in large groups with scouts, is there any way to make it worthwhile on small groups ?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Finally, the AA lines. It's new for me (i just finished to download KoS), i have no idea what to choose. I read that int and sta lines are good, but most of the posters were with lvl 70 and good gear. What line should i choose as a lvl 50 with average gear ? Again, i don't plan to raid, mostly solo and duo. I would like something to boost my dps and debuff, or allow me to have more mana and heal more, i don't know. The melee line would be amazing, if i can dps with my weapon and keep my mana to heal. But i hardly can see how i can do good dps with a one hand weapon, right now i hardly hit enough to kill a grey down arrow mob so... :smileytongue:</DIV> <DIV>Again any advice or info is welcome <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks in advance :smileywink:</DIV>

Welcome back,Since you seem to like the battle priest concept I would recommend you to atleast try the melee dps AAs, think it is STR and STA (check this board for more info about it). This AA setup helps in small groups as far as I have tried it, and you can put out some acceptable dps using a 2 hander. If you choose the 2 hander you can put Inquest on your self and you should be all set with power as long as you hit something (read about the 3 second normalization for more detailed info). If you have a Brigand/Swashbuckler in your group, try Inquest on them <span>:smileywink:</span>Coerced Repentance; only use this debuff on fighters and scouts, it triggers when they use a combat art. Useless on mages and priests.Zealotry is situational, use it when you don't need to cast anything or low on power if you are using the melee AAs, long delay weapon and Inquest.Hope this helps atleast alittle...<div></div>

its really hard for an inquisitor to reach the stat cap, because we have no self wisdom buffs, where most other classes can buff their main stat.i would think that wisdom and strength would be your 2 biggest concerns, followed by Intelligence. melee autoattack seems to be much better for me than nuking away does, i usually just debuff and use my DoTs, and just smash away with the best damage hammer i can find.

<P>The Coerced Repentance line for solo'ing/small grps is almost a waste of power IMO usually like u said it triggers 1 or 2 times then time runs out. I usually do like Ryklis and DoT the mobs and debuff their Mit/Str/Int. As for the Zealotry line, I really only use it when i solo auto attack or during periods of time where we dont need healing. I have found that 2h are really good for soloing but I wouldn't bother with it when ur in a grp. Try to keep ur GK weapon/Prismatic for regen as we are more Aggressive then a Templar. Our mana siphon spell line goes REALLY good on a Pred/Rogue but unless ur gonna be actually auto attacking/melee'ing ei solo'ing, I suggest keeping it on another class. That spell alone makes our power pool even bigger so i suggest trying to get it high as u can ie Adept 3 or so. I'm just glad they made the Zealotry line toggle on/off now <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> GL and happy hunting.</P> <P> </P> <P> </P> <P>Fyodor Tribalized</P> <P>70 Inquisitor Tribe of the Seven Moons</P> <P>Mistmoore</P> <P>If u make it idiot proof, they just make a bigger idiot.....</P><p>Message Edited by SpunkyMonk on <span class=date_text>09-20-2006</span> <span class=time_text>05:24 AM</span>
