<DIV>Im almost 30 and a few days ago I joined a group. First of all we went to Nek forest killing nameds, then we went to TS to kill gnolls/giants. </DIV> <DIV>All in all I thought it was a pretty nice group, I dinged twice and there were few deaths. The tank didnt die once I think although one or two of the DPS classes died once or twice, no more.</DIV> <DIV> I didnt let them die, i tried to heal as much as I could without letting the tank drop. All of a sudden one of the wizards asks in occ for a new tank and healer and boots us both out of group. I asked him what I did wrong and he says I dont know how to heal :/</DIV> <DIV>Any idea what I did wrong? The only thing I could think of is up to now I havent used cures at all. They seem to dissapear on thier own rather quickly and it seems just as easy just to keep healing, or am I missing something?</DIV> <DIV>I joined a group the next day with a second healer and after an hour I asked him If I was doing ok and he said fine (I went main healer and he was nuking) I asked him and my best friend who plays a 70 brigand and they seemed to think the wiz was prabably peeved because he couldnt chain nuke without getting aggro. The guy was a huge twink and although I have some decentish gear for my level my heals arent all mastered/ad3.</DIV> <DIV>Any thoughts appreciated.</DIV>

<P>Sounds to me like you hit the nail on the head with the wizard, or maybe you should have hit the wizard on the head. Yeah stay away from ones like that. They lead to greif and you dont need em. </P> <P>Cures are important though as they take away from your reactives even if they are doing very minimum damage. Your reactives will only trigger a certain amount of times and even a 1 point damage dot will wear it out and you find yourself casting them alot more than you should.</P> <P> </P>

I would just ignore it.  The wizard just sounds like a [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] bag, and he was probebly over nuking and going OMG im getting agro, the tank must suck.  And then he forgot one of the rules of MMORPGs,   CLOTH+HIGH DPS=DEAD CLOTH.  Its called agro controll and he just didn't know how to use it. <div></div>

<P>The absolute worst type of MMORPG player is not the noob, or the slightly reckless character, but the anally retentive, knee jerk reactive, my-way-or-the-highway, self-appointed fuhrer.</P> <P>It sounds like you got one of these.</P> <P>They seem to think theres a set way to do things, and if you're not performing at 100% efficiency then you're a risk to the entire group.  They will argue that their way is better (and in fairness it usually is), but they will never suggest their improvement or give you time to experiment.  Its usually in the form of a yelling, and a /kick. </P> <P>I'm not suggesting people take dangerous risks in their respective group roles, but its up to you how you do the job, not them.</P>

<P>Yeah, sounds like you did everything right and the wiz was just a tool.  Its HIS job to manage his agro as part of DPS.  That will vary on the tank, but your job is keeping the tank up, not some softy wiz.  You and the tank could very likely duo just about any mob, the job of the rest of the group is to do it more efficiently and faster.</P> <P>I'll flat out tell DPS some times that if they keep ripping agro I won't even bother healing them.  Its my job to keep the tank up first and them second.  Tank dies we likely all die.  The wizard dies, we laugh and keep killing the mob.</P>

the guy was an [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]. forget about him, move on and play the game how you like to. there is no way a tank can keep aggro from a twinked chain casting wizard.<div></div>

I wouldnt sweat it too much, sounds the Wiz was the problem not youYou are right that most hostile effects will wear off with little effect but curing them is a good habit to get into, its only really essential in high level zones and on raidsI organise my cures in order they appear on the tank Truama - Arcane - Noxious - Elemental on a hotbar that is 4x3 so its easy to quickly use them, hope this helps

<P>Don't feel bad, there are tons of idiots out there, and they play this game too.  What I have found is that this game requires people to get out of themselves and work together as a unit to play the game well.  It's usually never the case that one person is carrying the group. It takes taunts, equipment, heals, cures, debuffs, buffs, DPS etc etc to do something well.  People get excited about their class and its normal to test limits... but nukes for one group arent nukes for another.  </P> <P>That's what people don't get. Its not about your DPS, its about how you maximise your DPS along side the tanks aggro gain.  It's not something you can see, it takes time playing with people to know what you can do. One of my alts is a 70 GRD, and i've seen the worst cases of people just being stupid for no reason whatsoever, especially in raids.  Its like, I am allowed to nuke constantly and immediately beginning a pull and if you don't hold it it is your fault. Could you imagine if it was impossible for a tank to lose aggro? Everyone would stop playing cause the game would put you to sleep.  </P> <P>There are alot of considerations in any group that in most cases the people who just start pushing buttons don't even think about. All the way from "is there a dirge with a hate buff on the tank" to "how good are the other players at playing their class". People play like they are soloing. They just don't have any sense of working with other people. What is really sad is it happens more than you would imagine.</P> <DIV>When you see this stuff just put them on ignore, thats what I do.  That way you don't even have to worry about them later on. I have no interest in hearing from idiots with a pathetic attitude.  I don't know anyone who does.....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Madrael Ankhti</DIV> <DIV>57 INQ</DIV> <DIV>Socii Equitis</DIV> <DIV>Everfrost</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
