<DIV>Juat reached 44 and pondering the choices offered  for a Master II.  Single reactive, Stinging Penance, or group reactive, Salutary Diatribe?  Mostly play in groups, some solo, a wee bit of dueling. First higher lev inquisitor I asked said go with the group reactive.  But looking at the 5 second cast time vs, 2 seconds for the single Diatribe.  Aren't the chances of being interrupted much higher in 5 seconds than in 2 seconds? I can see how they balance it with 5 heals single vs 9 heals group, but factoring in the risk of interruption, I am leaning to the Diatribe.  Any thoughts from this perceptive community?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Corsonna - Lucan server</DIV> <DIV>alt Mattrem, 44 inquis - Lucan server</DIV>

I'm about to turn 44 too.  My plan is to get the group reactive.  Here's my thinking: 1. I play on a PVP server.  My group reacitve is usually the first thing I do when it looks like a fight is *about* to break out.  It's pretty handy mid-fight too, when it's hard to tell who's going to get hit. 2. It'll last a longer time than a spell we get at, say, 40. 3. It's a nice pre-buff for running through places like the giant caves in Everfrost, where everything sees through invis totems. <div></div>

I'd say the single person reactive. Most of the time you'll only be healing the tank and if someone else in the group that's not the main tank  starts taking large damage it means either the tank isn't doing it's job or the other group members are taking large amounts of magical damage that your reactives won't heal anyway.

I usually group with a Fury, so I'm pretty much the backup healer.  When agro gets funky in those situations, a single-target reactive doesn't always work, since the mob bounces around to different party members as people evade and such. <div></div>

I always get the single target, tanks are usually good about keeping agro.  And honestly the group takes to long to cast.  I pretty much never ever use it and it's very low on the list of things to get upgraded for me.<div></div>

I always choose the single target as well and try my best to get the group one up to adept 3 at least or hunt for a M1 of the spell. But your choice will depend on your plans. If you spend alot of time in a group with another reactive healer that already has the M2 of the single target (be it Inq or Temp) then go with the group one since you both wont be casting the same single target reactive due to cancelling each other out. If you are the only or main healer in your set up, then pick the single as it will be your main job for reactives follwed up with direct heals. Mostly its up to you and your play style that should make your desicion for you. And even if you group with a fury warden defiler mystic, then you can still use your single target reactive in the background of the HoTs and Wards.

<P>Thank you, everyone, for good arguments on each side.</P> <P>I ended up choosing the single reactive, and will keep an eye out for a chance to upgrade the Salutary Diatribe from Adept 1.</P> <P> </P> <P>Corsonna for Mattrem, the 44 inquisitor</P> <P>Lucan D'lere</P>
