So, when I read up about the "DPS'ing Inquisitors", it was all just blowing smoke up my [Removed for Content]? I guess I should try a paladin, but I wanted one with a bit more casting whallop.

Blech on the Fury, no melee dps, no DPS buffs. Leather armor. Weak debuffs.

I agree with the OP - from other posts and actual parses, it looks to me like we Inquisitors have some DPS potential, at least for a priest. Plus, we can take some hits.

My main is 63 atm on a PVE server, and I mainly group or raid, and as a healer. I get bored soloing, so I haven't "built" him to be a dps machine. However, I also have an alt inquisitor (only 23 at the moment) on a PVP server, as I enjoy fighting a more intelligent "mob" sometimes. Things change each tier, but right now I have been able to take out any even or yellow con ranger I've run across. Again, it might be the tier, but rangers are touted as a high dps class, and yet I have not yet lost to one in a 1 v 1 fight.

Our Devotee's Repentance line is awesome against the CA-using classes, providing a stun and damage every time they use a combat art. This coupled with our two DOT's, and our nuke/stifle is plenty to take them out. I plan to focus on both healing for group/raid situations, but also on dps for the pvp aspect. I'm encouraged by what I'm hearing from my fellow inquisitors about our dps potential.

I'm not super high in level yet but i have found, so far, that we sit at about half a rogues dps of equal level if you lay it on thick in a longer battle. Short battles I seem [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] near useless other than buffs. I'm 27 atm and can solo in RoV 2x 26 Heroic spiders and bats and single up 27 non heroics. I was concerned with the classes DPS when I started playing but have not been dissapointed so far. We certainly have a very good balance between heals and damage, never found a mob I can heal through but not kill before I run outa power, or kill easy but could nopt heal through. Will you have awesome DPS? No. Can you kill things effectively? yes.

At level 70, Good assassin single mob DPS=1400-1600 Good inq dps = 300-400

If you intend to go DPS-Inquisitor, you'd best make sure your raid guild knows this and allows it (since most raid guilds REQUIRE that their main heal go Critheal for their AA) DPS-Inq's, at this moment, seem to really come into their own once they hit the abiltiy to Zealotry. I've calculated it, and you can max out the strength, agility and stamina "third tier" abilities (Incease damage, increase speed and increase crit melee chance) while still having an extra point leftover for whichever else you want. This is assuming you don't want to spring for the eight-pointer on the end of any of the lines. You'll also want/need to: Get a decent 2H hammer, preferably imbued or with some sort of proc. Post 60, the best maul is the Blackscale Maul or another one (I forget the name, but it's lvl 6 This allows you to use pure-melee DPS, because relying on casting doesn't seem to work very well by itself. When you begin getting debuff reactives (Like our repentence or vengence lines) that's when you see Inq DPS really shine. Debuffing and casting reactive heals is probably the best thing you need to do then, which is what I'm doing now as I crawl my way up to the requisite 65 (Wh00t Ding 62!!!) for my maul.
