<DIV>Ok with mentoring in I can take my lowly lvl 24 Inquis out of retirement.  I have 1 person thats about to start up eq2 and I have a roomate that is already set up.  My question is what would make a fun/prime trio?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My thoughts:  Zerker/Assassin/Inquis or Zerker/Troubador/Inquis or Zerker/Wizard/Inquis</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am fine with having a zerk tank and although the assassin and wizard will add some good DPS....I am hearing the the troubador buff/debuffs are prime post lvl 20.  What are your thoughts?  Since assassin and wizard add good dps should we make a racial+def guardian instead and have zerker in a troub group to compensate the DPS loss?  Do you higher lvl inquises have any trouble keeping zerker tanks alive? At 24 I am able to keep a 6 person group alive easily versus orange^^ and some red^^ encounters with no backup.  Is this consistant later?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know most groups work but I'm just trying to establish sumthing solid.</DIV>

Adding the troub will make it much easier to heal the tank. Also, if you are fighting mobs that aren't so hard, the troub can run power regen for faster pulls.

<DIV>From what I've seen (I group with 35-42 classes) you don't really need a troub for power regen cause provision food is so good it doesn't even matter.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Best trio imo with Inquisitor as healer:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Zerker - best dps tank (grped with 40 guard and 40 zerker last night, zerk was doin great dps) </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Wizard - Warlock do do more dps but the inquisitors have a heat/cold debuff so wizard can take advantage of that, warlocks are poison/disease.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Best scout dps is swashbuckler, tho I haven't grouped with a brigand/ranger or a 38+ assassin (assassin get dps boost at 38 i heard) 37 assassin dps is weak, but i don't know about lower lvls.</DIV>

<DIV>I'm not that high level, only 34, but I like zerk for tank.  Very versatile, great agro capabilities, good dps, AoE, etc.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For the third, I like bard types.  Makes the zerk a crazed killer.  Amazingly enough, necro makes a good third also.  In a trio with a necro, we all got 30% xp an hour and can chain pull orange groups/orange ^^.  Not bad.</DIV>

<DIV>i have a zerker/defiler/warlock or necro running grp going.  i know ur already a INQ but u wanted ideas.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>zerker can tank ^^ mobs if needed and do great AOE DPS on greens.  if you get a guardian, ur zerker can shift to DPS.  if you have a guardian, he will always be MT i hear.  zerker allows u more options from dual/grp viewpoint.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>defiler+warlock complement each others poison/disease DOT/debuff/DD.  just dont expect to do well against snakes.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>another grp for use would be zerker/defiler/necro.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>it's very offensive, and if u need a boss then add a guardian.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>warden/wiz is a good fit too as they use elemental.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>i would guess a zerker/fury/assassin would be a nice fit.</DIV>

Assassin 7 that was a good group....</DIV><p>Message Edited by shtychkn2 on <span class=date_text>03-10-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:13 PM</span>

<DIV>Yes, their haste stacks with the zerk's zerk (and berserkers can have two zerks up at a time).  Also, they have amazing stat buffs.  So, in particular, the increased strength helps the dps and the increased agility makes me have less healing to do <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The power regen isn't something that I take into consideration because I supply the berserker with drinks (not tier 4 yet, but still good) so he is always good to go.</DIV>

<DIV>Zerker should be the tank hands down, Paladins lack dps, you shouldn't have any problems healing, I don't.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For dps Warlocks and Wizards do the most hands down, conjurers and necromancers don't do as much, you can see the difference in most fights.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Bards do 2 times less dps than Warlocks and Wizards, sometimes even less, and they don't really make up for it with their buffs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've compared a 37 assassin and a 37 wizard, assassin did almost 2x less, both were competent players with adepts and such.</DIV>

Personally I would be partial to Guardian/Inquisitor/Dirge. You get excellent tanking ability, healing ability, and the dirge provides run speed, dps, evac, mana regen/haste, and all other nifty stuff. If run speed is not a concern, a Troub fits just as well.

I often trio with zerker, assn and inq. I am not sure if there is a single "best" trio, but I can tell you that this one works *very* well. Get your HO's down, master the subtle abilities of each character, and you can do things that people your level require six people in a pick-up group to accomplish.

<DIV>Zerker/Bruiser/Inqusitor would be my vote.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> Bruiser gets insane tank ac buffs (for the Zerker) and can out dps most classes.  They're an insane class.</DIV>

<DIV>Wow, totally different than my opinion, for the last 15 levels I found the 2-3 person groups with a tank is a waste when you have an inquisitor because you have heavy armor already.  I tank with a conj and a wizard, stifle reduces even the bigest meanest EF mob down to a cute little fuzzy wuzzy (this is of course excluding x2, x3 x4 mobs).  I usually duo with a conj, I tank, pull with stifle, mage attacks (conj do better than a lot of wizards in longer duration battles and theyre easier to keep hate off of) and we regularly kill orange ^^ much quicker than the 2-3 person groups where I've got a 'tank' class.  When the wizard is on, all 3 of us will group up and kill yellow, orange, and some red ^^ mobs.  Even at 40+ its 1% or so a kill in the right areas, and theyre fast kills with all the dps.  Ín an hour we can net 20-30% of a level sometimes even faster.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The catch, stifle is key, mobs at 40+ will turn you into goo if they get off their 1200+ specials fairly quickly.  Also, you have to learn how to use celestial bloom, it basically functions like a complete heal.  Mage starts HO, you hammer, then mage advances wheel with bolt, it is key YOU finish celestial bloom (a reactive on yourself is good for this).  When you finish celestial heal itll put you back at full, most I've had it heal me for so far is 2500 and that was from half a bub left of health to full.  Additionally, celestial blooms that heal you significantly are gonna [Removed for Content] off the mob, keeping hate on you.  Another key is you need to keep your armor at top notch, no running around in cold forged armor at level 35, it just wont work in this group, but with all the loot youll be getting it's really easy to pay for upgrades.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My conj friend and I duoed at the following levels in the various areas with the wizzy buddy occasionally showing up.</DIV> <DIV>25-30 EL/Zek</DIV> <DIV>30-35 RE (before you get stifle, its easier to have the pet tank, after CI its easier if you tank for celestial blooms)</DIV> <DIV>35-38 RV ($$!)</DIV> <DIV>38-42/43 Obelisk of Lost Souls ($$$$!!!!)</DIV> <DIV>42/43+ EF (we tried at 38 when we got access but it just didnt go well only thing we could really hunt were the groups of wolves) ($$$!!)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>additionally... I found I perfer duoing with the conj over the wizard for one main reason, the pet can be used to tank adds because 2 ^^ yellows will not miss often and youll get a lot of interrupts, its simply a lot easier if the pet can tank 1.  Reminds me of a memorable battle in Obelisk when were were both 39.  I didnt know the nightbloods were social and I pulled with stifle rather than proximity agro, so two came, a 39^^ and a 40^^.  I started on the 40^^ and the mage sent the pet on the 39^^, after we killed the 40^^ and had the 39^^ to about half health, another 40^^ agroed from around a pillar.  In the end, even after I thought we were f'd, we came out victorious, no mana, both of us health in the red, pet died, but no debt.  The key was HOs, arcane chalices and celestial blooms made it all possible and the pet, without the pet tanking the adds, it would have been ugly with interrupts, a few bad interrupts, stifle wears off, nightblood cranks you for 850.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've trioed with tank/rogue, tank/mage and mage/mage, for me, the best combination is the mage/mage for xp and speed, I've never tried rogue/mage.</DIV>

<DIV> <DIV>Well I think having a zerker tank would be preffered to tanking myself because of dangerous interrupts.  My current configuration plan is now</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Berzerker/Wizard/Inquisitor</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A good zerker (my main solo char is ratonga/zerker) can keep aggro and pull in aggro from adds.  I also like the high DPS the group offers.  I tested this last night with a group and we were running orange and red ^^ with little trouble at all.  My stack of fayberry tea's (3hr 22min ) also helped alot heh.</DIV></DIV>

<DIV>You're right about evac, however the Bruisers I've parsed destroy Wizards over time in DPS. And their blocking/AC buff (~2k AC) to the MT is also insane, when grouped with a 45 Bruiser and a 45 Guardian I think I healed once over a course of many hours.</DIV>

<DIV>Shadowknight, warlock, inquis... </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>so far i'm only level 22 though.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I enjoy this combo because the warlocks can cannibalize hp to mana, they have a mana regen proc buff/debuff, coupled with inquis reactive heals and rebuke+mark of pawns+elemental resist debuff... the sk and warlock stuff really starts to add up.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I don't know about warlocks being "all poison disease" my brother uses mostly a fire spell that i've seen... and our HO's seem to be elemental in nature... </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>SK's can taunt groups of M.O.B.s a lot better than zerks which is invaluable when you only have 3 people... if someone bites the dust it's game over.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I guess theres some type of 'hold the line thing' that zerks can do to taunt but being able to move is also invaluable.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My 2cp</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>SK/inq/lock = fun and non-stop action.</DIV>

<P>Guardians get hold the line as well, it's a warrior class ability...</P> <P>I find though as a guardian, one AE taunt followed by a group buff allows me to easily hold agro all day long with my inquis healing, and my friends wiz chain nuking.</P>
