View Full Version : Level 30 spell line up
<DIV>I just dinged 30 and am totally confused with my spell lineup. I have 4 hotbars with an array of spells. I'm noticing 3 basic trends with my spells; heal, debuffs, damage.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What's your spell lineup look like on your main hotbar?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Are you a full time healer or do you toss in nukes and debuffs?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Which debuffs do you think work best <=30?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Which heals do you think work best <=30?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm usually the main healer in my group and I've been experimenting with different spells, trying to find combos that work...i.e. does throwing every debuff I have actually make the fight quicker? How do other members spells/buffs affect my ability to heal? Do I just sit with my fingers poised over the heal hotkeys or do I toss in some dots/dd's?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I love the class, and I've been fairly successful in keeping the groups alive, I'm just looking for ways to refine my lineup to optimize my abilities.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>thanks in advance</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Docz</DIV>

<DIV>Well, I run around with 4 hotbars visible so here goes:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Bar1: All single target heals, reactives, and cures</DIV> <DIV>Bar2: HO trigger, all single target nukes and debuffs</DIV> <DIV>Bar3: All group heals, reactives, cures, and group debuffs/nuke</DIV> <DIV>Bar4: All special strikes (nukes), rez spells, and duration (not concentration) buffs</DIV> <DIV>Bar5: (not visible) Concentration buffs and Call of the Overlord.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've found that with the first 4 bars visible, I can play with 1 hand if necessary although movement is cumbersome with the mouse to me. I set up all my toons similarly, a bar for single target actions, group actions, positional actions, etc. That way I can pretty much log on any of my toons and play efficiently.</DIV>

<DIV>I play with three hotkey bars visible, although I have 4 with different things on them. I have two hotkey bars across the bottom of my screen, one with my most used heals and one with debuffs and one or two single target damge spells. I don't use a lot of the single target damage spells simply I'm usually in a group and am too busy healing and debuffing to nuke. The hotkey bar across the top of my screen has things on it like the HO starter, hotkeys that announce things like the HO starter, a couple of different group macros to annouce HO starters and Inc Heals, rezzes, call, assist, and yell. The third bar is used mainly for things that I use on a regular basis but are not pertinent to a fight. I keep the yell key away from all my other keys so I don't "accidentally" click on it during a fight. I have a fourth hotkey page that has our buffs, rez stone, EB, and so forth on it that I don't have visible simply because I usually don't look at that page again after I log on unless we had an unfortunate death.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When it comes to fighting, I debuff based on the situation and if I am the only healer or not. If I'm the only healer in a group, I will try to debuff between cast of reactives and heals. I am finding that the one spell I try to get on any mob first thing in the fight is Cruel Invocation to stiffle the mob. Now if I'm in a group with another healer, then debuffing the mob is a lot easier because of the double healing power.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The best thing is to find the system that works best for you and the one with which you are the most comfortable. :smileyhappy:</DIV>
<DIV>As a lvl49 Inquisitor, i have 7 hotkey bars:</DIV> <DIV>cut from a 1600x1200 screen btw</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://img157.exs.cx/img157/6899/hotkeys6ba.png"></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1) Single reactives, instants, arch heals, back-up/safety heals (Radiance, Evidence of Faith).</DIV> <DIV>4) Group reactives, instant heals.<BR>2) DoT's, debuff's.<BR>3) Single buffs, group buffs, cure's.<BR>5) Rez abilities, hide, self temp AC save buff, 2x distract spells, Call of Overlord, sprint, call for help.<BR>6) Macro's, fun spells, infravision, odyssey, summon food&water.</DIV> <DIV>7) Melee attack, <EM>quest icon</EM>, AoE DMG, fear, root, start HO, mastery DMG spells.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Heals are good, some high level abilities dont work at all or not proply.</DIV> <DIV>AoE and DoT's are fine i guess, considering im only a healer/Priest.</DIV> <DIV>Debuffs imo i dont see any differance at all - i can debuff the hell out of the enemy and then i ponder [FaarNerfed!] has all my power gone, while the tank is getting hit the same and the enemy isnt dieing any faster.</DIV>
