I learned something about fizzles Sunday night...the hard way.If you have higher Wisdom, your fizzle rate goes WAY DOWN (EDITED). How do I know? Glad you asked. My armor popped on 2nd death inside Cauldron Hollow. So a mostly naked Barbarian Inquisitor was stuck healing with half the power, and none of the protection of his equipment. How'd I do? I sucked. But we had 6 other healers...hehe...(Overkill, but we take a lot of lower 30's in there and the baddies hit like brick trucks). So we still ended up rocking the place. Killed the big named (Torig) and took home 7 pieces of loot. And I had to live with the embarassment of leading a raid group into Cauldron Hollow--naked halfway throughOh, back to the point of this message. I had 1-4 fizzles EVERYTIME I tried to cast something. So, let this be a lesson to you all--keep thine equipment repaired. But I did notice that when I DID get a spell off, it was just as effective as usual. So no penalty on effectivness, just many more fizzles.Wisdom is good for more than just power points.<p>Message Edited by BlueQuick on <span class=date_text>01-25-2005</span> <span class=time_text>09:43 PM</span><p>Message Edited by BlueQuick on <span class=date_text>01-26-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:35 PM</span>

If your armor was dead then I'm assuming you are saying that the bonuses on the armor were not counted therefore your wisdom should be less than normal. You said that you had many fizzles while in the broken armor. So did you mean that with the higher the wisdom the less chance you have to fizzle goes up?<p>Message Edited by Troysmith on <span class=date_text>01-26-2005</span> <span class=time_text>01:18 AM</span>

<DIV>This really doesn't tell you anything but that some stat effects fizzle rate.  Since you lost your wisdom adjustment and all other stats, it is just as likely that it had nothing to do with wisdom.  All we really know from this is some stat effects fizzle rate.  Could be wisdom, but it could be int, or agi, or...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I'm not sure if this sheds much light on anything.   I have really, REALLY low intelligence.  I have ignored intelligence for the most part as a wisdom caster (like I did in EQ), but I found this post and it did make me wander if I shouldn't keep an eye on intelligence.  Sadly, I haven't had the available resources to actually test it, but it is something to think about.  it "could" stand to reason considering I have a horrid fizzle rate at times.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=19&message.id=1114&highlight=intelligence#M1114" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=19&message.id=1114&highlight=intelligence#M1114</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Necros in EQ used to/still do rate dex as important to them as int.  There were arguments that it impacted everything from fizzles to interupts.  One thing that is absolutley certain in EQ, and EQ II from what I have noticed so far, is that fizzle rate is much higher right after leveling.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For the first 20% into a level in EQ, the fizzle rate will be more than double what it was just prior to leveling, even for low level spells.  Right after leveling, it was not unusual to fizzle level one spells, even at 65.  By the time you were 50% into the level, very few fizzles occured except on new spells.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You're right that it makes sense for wis casters to fizzle based on wis, but then it would be easy to figure out and SOE likes to keep us guessing<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One thing I know without a doubt for me though, if I absolutely, positively must get a heal off now....fizzle.</DIV>
