<DIV>...Tomorrow, Odessey is group only. The potentail griefing element is removed...though a weapon against other griefers is lost.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would not care except that nothing was mentioned about the SK FD spell. Now, not only must I fear the galloping SK at my back, rdy to incapacitate me so he/she can harvest the node I was at and beat me to the next one...but now I have no means to retaliate. I can't sprint behind him and port him while he harvests the next node. I can't lecture him while he sits back at home.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm truely scared now...I hope my /petition macro will be as powerful as my Odessey macro...  : /</DIV>

<DIV>Personally  I think its stupid to oddessy someone over a node???   I dont think this is nerf this is how it was suppose to be , not a tool to grief people with.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I agree with you Nighthwk, however, I think the poster above was drawing attention to the fact that now SKs have an absolute advantage, with no way of countering it at all. Absolutely, porting someone over a node is petty, but when that person is consistently running ahead of you grabbing EVERY node in the zone ( or at least a good 75% of them) then it starts to grate a LOT more. Believe me, I've experienced this first hand. With the Odyssey nerf SKs and paladins will reign supreme as the only people who can compete for Nodes on an entirely diffrent and unreachable level (given that, at lvl 50, their horse beats any bought one available). That leaves the rest of us in the position of hoping we aren't up against a pally or SK when harvesting, a bit of an unfair situation if you ask me (although the odyssey stone didn't solve it, it certainly gave us a chance to put them in their place occasionally). <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV>What patch notes you reading (they might have changed or updated them)?  When I logged on it clearly said that Od stones and Graven were now group only.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Graymane on <span class=date_text>01-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>09:55 AM</span>

I wish I had had a chance to Odyssey someone over a harvest node before it was nerfed. ;p

<DIV>Graven Image was also changed to group only (according to the notes) so have no fear from SKs.</DIV>

I was in RE a few days ago and 2 SK's were [Removed for Content] at one of my group members so they decided to FD me and my coercer just as our tank pulled a orange ^^ group mob effectively taking away half the buffs our group had. Needless to say 3 out of 5 in the group died and we had to run. Had I known then that I could gate non-group PC's I would not have hesitated to. 5% debt is a pain to get back at lvl 33, especially when 2 of the ppl that died blamed the entire incident on me and didn't believe me when I explained what happened. This reduced our group to 3 instead of 5.<p>Message Edited by Elias187 on <span class=date_text>01-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>01:45 PM</span>

<DIV>I'm sure every inquisitor out there can give an example of how they used Odessey to right the wrongs that were so horribly cast down upon them.  The fact of the matter is, with the game being non-pvp, it opens a whole can of worms when it comes to people who abuse the power.  SK's FD can be used to save people's lives who are almost dead running from 20 mobs and facing certain death.  It can also be abused by harvesters and people who just get a sick satisfaction of making a group wipe.  Odessey is no different.  It's not a nerf because it was never meant to be used in this fashion.  If you played EQ1, you would know thats not how teleportation spells work, you have to either be grouped with the person or click a confirm button (which odessey doesn't have).  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Could you use it to become your own personal cherub of justice and right wrongs?  Yes.  Should everyone be able to haphazardly cast it on whoever they feel with no risk to themselves because PVP is not implemented?  No.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Ayaka, 31 Inquisitor</DIV>

<DIV>/agree completely</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm just scared of unchecked SK abuse. Let me repeat, scared of UNCHECKED sk abuse.</DIV> <DIV>At least before, if a SK was being an @ss, a simple /ooc could get clerics to come to the area to watch the SK and see if he/she was griefing...</DIV> <DIV>...and then we could act "apropriately"</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have heard numerous accounts of SK grief, but no one of Odessey grief (though I'm sure they exist)</DIV>

Funny how people equate roleplaying an evil character as being an [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot].

Personally, I think this sucks. There need to be some spells where you can adversely affect another player. The potential for abuse is there, yes, but where's the harm? Call it griefing if you will, but as it is a player has zero effect on the environment or others, and that is lame.
