<DIV>Can anyone give more detail on exactly what steps make up the quest? I will be embarking on it this evening as I hit 20 last night.</DIV>

Step 1: Kill stuff in CommonlandsStep 2: Kill stuff in Fallen GateStep 3: Kill more stuff in Fallen GateStep 4: Kill stuff in the deep sewers (below Seapant Sewer - forgot name)Step 5: Kill stuff in Nektulos ForestStep 6: Kill more stuff in Nektulos Forest
<DIV>I have a question regarding getting the quests. on most quest NPCs when I talk to them I am given 3-4 options which usually allows me to get 2-3 quests from them at once. Is it like this for the armour quests or do I have to complete one go back and talk to him to get the next? I am just afraid to get into a good group and out level the range of mobs to level on and complete the next step of the quest because I didn't want to leave the party and get my next quest, and then have to ask people to fight weaker mobs to help me complete it.</DIV>
<DIV>Step 4 is in Edgewater, below Serpent Sewers.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You will have to do these step by step so no, you cant hog more than one from the quest npc. Step 1 requires you to kill 20 or so fallen guardians which were conning grey to me when I started the armor quest but the rest of the mobs were pretty much white or above.</DIV>
<DIV>I'm finding step 2 of the quest in Fallen Gate pretty nasty. Can't remember the exact name, but the giant rat mobs are orange^^ at 20, and definitely require a full group with 2 healers.</DIV>

Chewgo,You'll be fine with just yourself as healer as long as you have a goodtank in the group. I've helped kill a ridiculous number of the big ratsin FG (I think they're "wretched vermin" or some such; so many "wretched"and "vermin" things down there, I lose track). They do a lot of dmg, but you can do it; the first time I went into FG, I wasthe only healer in the group and we did these for someone else's quest(I know the tanks have to kill these as well for their armor quest) andI was only around level 17 or 18 and managed to keep everyone alive.Barely. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />A word of caution: DO NOT stand in front of the rat. Those (and the"tainted vermin", perhaps others in FG, like the "vile shriller" bats)have a NASTY cone-based AoE attack that does a lot of damage. Don't evenstand to the side, get behind it. Only the main tank in your group should bedirectly in front of it. I'd warn the "skirts" about this too as most ofthem I group with just don't "get it" when I yell at them for wasting mymana due to their incompetence. Make sure everyone, even the assistingtanks, get behind the thing or your job will become much harder and manawill be wasted that should be meant for the main tank (I wouldn't botherhealing an idgit who can't comprehend simple instructions, but then Idislike debt even more, heh). The thing to worry about here is that the rat doesn't do a lot of meleedamage, so your BoV isn't of a lot of use really. The problem is that outof the blue it will slam the tank with its AoE which drops the tanks HPsa huge amount (300+ usually). If it starts spamming this attack, yourtank is dead. You gotta be quick to cast a direct heal and try to keepBoV applied just so it helps, but it will not save the day like in most casesas the damage just comes in huge chunks, not small to medium chunks which BoVis great at keeping up with. After you fight enough of these (since a lot ofpeople around 20th need them for quests), you get to where you can almost predictwhen the AoE is going to go off, so usually I'm already in the middle ofcasting a Minor Arch or Arch Healing, but then I'm weird like that.Hope this helps.Khariess FaithbringerHalf Dark Elf InquisitorLucan DLere
<DIV>Thanks for the advice, I got the vermin peices last night, with a second healer <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. Just need a couple of fetid tier'dal now.</DIV>
<DIV>The fetid can most easily be found in market 2. And the spawns are pretty easy. Just watch out for the two spawns near the door.</DIV>

<DIV>AQ6 : Asilian Protectors - YIKES... by far the "hardest" part of my quest. The road is over camped... the wisps are BRUTAL and wonder all over the place! Its almost like a manufactured pressure cooker with groups fleeing, getting whipped out, arguing over the last Protector pull, people staking claims to plots of land, and in the middle of it all a SK rides through on his mule every 30 seconds with massive trains on his horses backside.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A little hint: To get the Protectors to spawn, kill the Whisps.</DIV>

Haha that's an awesome scene. Sounds even worse than trying to run to the beach with a horde of shrillers and owlbears in tow!I think future questers will have it easier. IMHO right now a majority of the people who started on day 1 and always played 1 character are in their low 20s so there's a huge number of people churning through the armor quests, more than the spawns were intended to support.

<DIV>P.S.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There is no Cold Hammered Helm quest... but...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Here is some info on a nice helm quest. It is very light armor, but the stats are really nice, and the quest is easy (all the mobs needed were solo yellow to lvl 22ish):</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/TheMarauderEyePatches.php" target=_blank>http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/TheMarauderEyePatches.php</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, there is a nice heavy plate helm that drops from the very same pirates (though, I think only groups of them). Very similar stats to the the quest listed above, but much much more AC. I ended up wearing the plate one and taking the minor stat hits for the extra AC. The quested helm fetched a nice price in merchant mode, too. =)</DIV>

If you're looking for a Heavy Armor helm, the quest The Captive's Information now includes a heavy armor helm option called A Pitted Helm. The WIS bonus is +4 compared to the +5 of The Marauder's Eye Patch and the other bonuses aren't quite as nice, but if it is AC you're interested in, it is a good helm for low-20s (I'm 23rd and I think it still cons green to me). The quest is also easy at 20+ when you can wear this helm (everything is a 'gray' con; the sand giants are the only annoying part as they're always camped it seems, so you have to fight low-level groups of people trying to do the Fallen Gate access quest for the giants [I joined up with someone else hunting them for a different quest to help eliminate some of the competition]). Since this quest can be acquired at level 12, the other reward options for the quest are good, too, if you don't want to get the Heavy or Medium version reward (all rewards are helms/caps with similar bonuses, although I do believe the Medium and Heavy versions offered more WIS as I recall, not to mention the nicer AC).<a href=http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/TheCaptivesInformation.php target=_blank>Quest: The Captive's Information</a><a href=http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/item.vm?itemId=6259 target=_blank>Item: A Pitted Helm</a>Khariess FaithbringerHalf Dark Elf InquisitorLucan DLere<p>Message Edited by aethertongue on <span class=date_text>12-09-2004</span> <span class=time_text>12:43 PM</span>
I tried to get the first quest at level 19 and he wouldn't talk to me. (In case anybody didn't already know that.)<p>Message Edited by Wozan on <span class=date_text>12-20-2004</span> <span class=time_text>09:54 AM</span>
